i dont remember the name of the party ( damn it was in 93 or 94 ).
Denard was playing there too. Fractal was actually leo cruz ( yes sir!), Rob-air ( bunker) and Mario ( sorry i forgot his dj name). they dropped the best parties EVER in mtl. they bring Juan Atkins, miss djax, acid junkies, rob acid, esp, hyperactive, misjah and a shitload of other i forgot. oh yeah, they first bring, on the same night, Adam X, Frankie Bones and... Jimmy Crash. that party was called Nebula. And yeah the bunker was the best record store in montreal and damn i miss it... this is a looooong story too ;) |

another classic - Voodoo Ray
apparently the sample is actually 'voodoo rage', but that was as far as the sample length could go, so he just kept it like that. Gerald is another genius... done so many good tracks since this one - right from house into hardcore and jungle. no way!
the only time i could get up was to go upstairs and realise it was not for me ( thats fucking ironic hein!?!) and go back downstairs wishing the beat could stop.... i remember going back home, waiting for the metro and feel relieved to hear a bad bad bad muzak version of a Doors song (i hate this band). |

Ciboire, je note ça, Mutante.
Nice tracklists, people. Chicago's DJ Fast Eddie ? That alone was total winnage. And Recoil, yes. Voodoo Ray. Lemme me add to the list a few tracks that haunted my turntables for YEARS :

Alien Be-In and Liquid Eyeliner by Psychic TV are amazing... I still cane the hell out of the 12" mix of Alien Be-In (it was the flip side of I.C. Water)... so much brilliant shit happened in the early days of acid house... Tim Simenon was a king... Beat Dis was the anthem, but You See Me In 3-D is the track by that crew...
I'm done with school and have a shit-ton of free time... anybody feel like swingin' by and jammin' out with some old-school acid house and early techno?
I'm feeling new records right now.. |

I think I paid $2 for mine... so it's either something that isn't worth all that much - or something we both got good deals on... then again... I scored a copy of French Kiss by Lil Louis for 50c... and had someone offer me $20 within an hour of picking it up... so it could just be a case of getting what you dig for.

We definitely should jam or something. I have dust collecting on my vynils right now. I have all sorts of interesting stuff too. I got shitload of Todd Terry as well (the earlier Royal House stuff), French Kiss I have, Plastic Dreams also if I'm not mistaken, a double LP of DJ Fast Eddie, Beat Dis, Unique 3, House Master Boyz (House Nation EP), and so many others, I can't remember half of what I got. Just waiting for a valid excuse to dust them off. That would qualify as one. :)
