Let me rephrase: anything post-Throbbing Gristle that is not musical can be called industrial... or something... Defining what's "industrial" is no simple task... I refer you to the excellent Prehistory of Industrial Music. What is meant by "glitch-core" (not my expression) is crusty, sometimes very harsh, but sutble electronic music. It can be ambient, but always threatening, heavily rhythmic, but not written for the dancefloor. |
