Don't want to add fuel to the fire but why is it that everytime I see the thread's title, the only thing I can think of is " 8000 (bleeding ear)DRUMS ? "

I know it's wrong, but still...
I'm feeling d&b selektah right now..

also obviously not all at the same place...

which makes me wonder... imagine the smell if 8000 people would fart all at once... at the same time as the drums?

anyways. i am wondering in what extent 8000 drumming people can heal the earth. sure it's awesome, it must be one hell of a jam. is it only to raise consciousness? to show the world that this kind of intention is possible? or is there some other magik involved?

i believe more in everyday action / individual change.
I'm feeling at peace right now..

Hey, finally someone talking some sense!

It's like people who decide to take the metro to work once a year rather than drive with their SUV like they do every other day; it's just a one-shot feel-good gesture that's not so much designed to do anything, but to make people feel like they're Really Contributing To A Good Cause before going back on with their lives honestly believing that they've Made A Diffrence In The World.
I'm feeling the no pussy blues right now..

Going back to their overly polluting lives, mind you.

Pollute, pollute, waste, waste, bang a little drum and we're good for another 6 months !

Why can't it just be about banging drums for the fun of banging drums ?

It seems we have a hard time indulging if it doesn't carry some sort of political message anymore. YES, things, people and such need tending to but banging drums will only get your adrenaline going. Sure it's a good thing...just failing to see the grand scheme of it all.

Yes well I could never have anticipated this sort of reaction.
Many of the friends I have who use this network that I have met at parties, I know from our conversations, that they are on this wavelength and I decided to post this simply to share.

I don't know any of you personally and I don't want to rub you the wrong way in saying this; but I feel like your responses are rather immature and disrespectful.... no offense....
Update » April-Anna wrote on Sat Mar 8, 2008 @ 3:14pm
I do agree that action is what is important; however, intention can also go along way. For those who do drumming for spiritual purposes within the native community, it is really a form of meditation in many respects and it is often used as apart of healing methods but never relied on alone... it is usually considered a wise action to back up something like drumming with an action that supports the intention you focused on while drumming... it is simular to a visualization technique .... I don't see any harm in their request for people to drum with the intention of healing; if it doesn't float your boat don't do it... not a big deal... I was only sharing for those who would feel a resonance to this; I didn't ask for those who are not drawn to this to get involved... why do you need to diss it? why not just be "ah, not my thing" and move onwards; why all this long discussion about why you think it is so bad... ?

I'm afraid you've come to the right place for that.

Reading 3 or 4 other threads on here will clearly show this right away.

Can't blame you for trying anyway.

Regardless April-Anna, you wanted to convey a message and it has, those truly interested do not need to reply, they know what to do or will contact your by PM.

Many people on here have learned to cut through the bullshit and get the info they want...and that's ok !

But we're not the sharpest tools in the shed. Horus is desperately trying to prove this...even though it has been proven many times before.

Thank god there's a sample pack.

Why is it that every time somebody wants to promote spirituality it involves so much pretentious talk about "wavelengths" and snap judgements of people as being negative when they're actually doing the opposite by being humourous? Is humour illegal to the "Tribe"? And where do you get off using the term "tribal" people? What, like if you're a member of some sort of tribe you can go, but if you're not, don't come? I'm not particularly tribal and the idea interests me, but all this talk about people not being on the right wavelength is flaky bullshit. I CALL BULLSHIT ON YOUR AIR OF SPIRITUAL SUPERIORITY! Just because it's a Mayan ritual doesn't mean that it's suddenly super holy, it's a ritual like any other, and it deserves to be spoken about without all the pretense. It's a gathering for peace. If 8000 people show up, yes it will create positive resonance. But that doesn't mean that it's exclusive to people who don't make jokes about sample packs! Hey you'd never have all the music you love listening to without sample packs! Get your head out of your pompous ass!
