i uno dude, if u saw ur dead relative being dropped on a basement floor with all kinds of other dead peeps, im pretty sure u`d be pissed and upset... I know animals dun require the same conditions, but Im pretty sure the SPCA can handle their shit better than that...

IMO=it dun really matter what they do once ur dead, after all, ur dead, so its not like u will complain or be insulted, the only people who would care about ur temporary conditions are ur living relatives...

That's why all corpses need to be incinerated. Fuck that, let's burn everything :)

Seriously, the case is messed up. The guy should be whipped for this.
I'm feeling margarinalized right now..

The guy ? How about the way things are done at the SPCA.

I remember my cat of 19 years and when I had her euthanized because of a gum infection. I went to this 24h vetenary hospital (now closed, bizarrely) and the vet looked tired and was grumpy. He told me " either you pay 600$ for the operation or you euthanize her. Your call ".

That cat was my fucking sister, I had her when I was 7 and for all these fucked up times I comtemplated suicide growing up, just talking to her made it all better. So you better damn well believe I want her to die with some dignity.

I insisted on being there as she was injected and slowly passed away. I looked her in the eyes and petted her, softly saying that it would be alright, she was going to a good place and how much I loved her.

Went it was done and was balling my eyes out, the guy just took her by the skin of her neck and, I swear, literally threw in a chute behind him. Not only did he NOT make any fucking efforts to do it with some sort of made up grief but he didn't even wait until I exited the room.

I was too depressed to gouge the eyes out of the guy's face.

To me, it seems a LOT of people in the vetenary business have no fucking clue what bonds you develop with animals. I wonder how these people would react if I brought their family members to the vet's office where they work and just shoot them in the head, see how THEY react.

Dignity and respect is fucking free. Have at least the decency to offer it if you are in this business.

I still have nightmares of this guy and my cat...erm...dieing.
I'm feeling dramatic. f**k off right now..

Well... I worked in a vet clinic, and I can tell you it is not that bad everywhere...

Where I was working, first of all, we were always asking people if they wanted to stay with their cat (it was a cat-only clinic). Euthanasia, for cats, has to be done in 2 injections, the first one is a tranquilizer and the second one actually puts the animal to sleep. First the vet and the assistant were giving the first shot, and the reglementary 15 minutes waiting was given to the pet and the owner to be on their own together. Afterwards, the second shot was given and we wrapped the cat in a clean towel to bring it in the back of the clinic.

We were always waiting to the owner to be gone before continuing with the process... which was to pud the cat in a garbage bag and then into the freezer. (yikes! I still remember the freezer... geez I hated that thing!) The freezer was being emptied regularly by a private company that incinarated the corpses. After the incinaration, the company was sending us little "death certificates" with the pet's and the owner's name, which we were sending to the owner with a sympathy card signed by all the clinic staff...

Basically, there are still places where the death of a faithful friend is being taken care of with dignity and respect...
I'm feeling silly games are fun right now..

Well, I should've gone to YOUR clinic for my cat. I never got a death certificate (I would've liked that) or anything, no sympathy card, not even sympathy. Like you said, at least wait until the owner LEAVES THE ROOM to drop them in the goddam chute.

Maybe it's just me, I value the life of animals a lot more than human beings (especially that vet I wanted to make him OD on ketamine)

The freezer you speak about, were bodies just piled on top of each other or there were, at least, metal slabs where they rested ?
I'm feeling dramatic. f**k off right now..

wow...something like that happened to me when I was a kid. Back when dumps were still public my dad used to drive my sisters and I out to them to scrounge up anything of value (yes, I come from white trash...not everyone can be middle class or up :P). On one of these trips...I must of been 6 or 7 years old, I was wondering around and found a pile of dead dogs that was like 6 feet high...I could understand if they were the same breed..like someone had ditched an un-wanted litter of pups...but there were all types of dogs in this pile...how the fuck does that happen? Anyway...in regards to the article I think its kind of absurd...sure it was a unpleasant experience for the child but traumatizing...I really hope Canada's Justice System doesn't slide down the same "slippery slope" that the U.S has were everyone can sue anyone over menial things...like learning about death...like aerial raver said, its like a morgue
I'm feeling thirsty right now..

not all places are doing bad work. the humane society where i volunteer doesn't kill the animals. and if they are sick the volunteer veterinary takes care of them. if the animal is not adoptable the humane society keep them all their life. for sure if a dog is "red zone" (which is rare) they find a appropriate place for them. they even have 1 cats alone in his huge cat house because he have feline aids (fiv).

i also already saw very bad stinky shelter who tried maybe to help but didn't know how to handle animals and didn't have adequate resources..like the shelter where we adopted pickle the cat.

over 4 millions pets each years are euthanized only in usa. people should fucking spay and adopt from shelter and adoption center instead of buying puppy and kitty at pet store! :(
I'm feeling hitched right now..
