Preheat oven at 425. Bake crashed hard drive for 75-90 minutes, depending on oven power. Let stand 5 minutes. **WARNING: HARD DRIVE WILL BE HOT!** Season with lemon juice and spices and serve with your favorite vegetables.

Is it showing up in the bios, or do you get weird random characters? It might be the controller chip that's fried.
I'm feeling fuckin' crazy right now..

it show up in bios but then it wont go on passed the point were it detects hard drives....

i hooked it up through my usb enclosure and it is showing up in "my computer" in windows but everytime i try to acces it, it gives me the good old: "drive not ready or file system is corrupted"

...im starting to think that the uhm... ahem.... file system is corrupted...

now the question would be... are there any file system uncorrupters?

Worse comes to worse, call the Geek Squad but do yourself and a favor and avoid Future Shop at all costs with anything that has to do with " repairs " IMHO.
I'm feeling dramatic. f**k off right now..

you need to have another hard drive with 80gigs of space to get that data back... and it will take about 8 hours to get back all the data... i had to do it once.

if you have 500-1000 $ to spend on it, you can always pay a specialised lab that will retrieve everything in a special "white room" (with perfect moisture/light/magnetic/electric conditions)

or else, you can hope that only your FAT (File Allocation Table) is broken, which means the data is here but you lost the way to get it. It's like a huge book for which you lost the Table of Contents. If that's the case, some softwares can work, such as "PCI file recovery" or "Virtual Lab" (or probably several others). This happened to me about 5 years ago : i lost 80 GB of mp3 i collected for 4 years too.

then, good luck ! :)
I'm feeling phd powa !!! right now..
