| i know this comment will spark conroversy.. but ill say it anyway
take God for example... is what He says right because He says so? or does He say so because it is right?
if we were to assume the first, that it is right because God says so, then we could just as easily say that God is useless since the opposite might just as well be right had He said so...
so we are therefore forced to choose the second, which seems more plausible, that He says so because it is right...
both of these tend to disprove God's existence (and if you want to know why I still believe even after this: St. Thomas Aquinas) |

| There is no "intrinsic" good or evil. In order to judge what is good or what is evil, you must measure it against some pre-existing standard or code. For example, homosexuality is evil when measured against the standard of the bible, but acceptable when measured against the standard of the law. Feeling a "warm feeling" when you do something good isnt a measure of an intrinsically good act, all it indicates is the internalization of a certain code of morality. You may become so accustomed to a particular form of morality that it seems normal or natural to think this way, and that anyone who thinks differently is inhuman. However, people in different societies have very different ideas of what is good or evil. |
