personally disappointed. as expected carola was technically flawless, but frankly he just doesnt have the ear, for me, when it comes to minimal. he touched on some good shit, but overall this set was really, really fucking boring. sounded like some dude that just discovered minimal. if you're gonna make it deep, MAKE IT DEEP. but for 3 hours carola teased, pulling shit in and out, never riding the very, very minimal beats for long enough.. finally got a bit puretekky towards the end, but it was way too late by then. plus he was using tractor scratch. weak. still rules, a good night overall, but disappointing, nothing special or unexpected. imho.

I just moved to Vermont recently and this was the first time I've been to Montreal. I can get where you all are comming from, but I honestly felt that Marco set very appropriate atmosphere although it wasn't really what I was expecting from him. He really could have played more aggressively but I still had a great time.

But yes, Montreal is great. I was impressed.

errr not really.... 1st of all his name is not Corola and 2nd of all I have never heard him play minimal before ever and I've seen him play several times before.... if anything, I'd give you a point if you said something like "He finally came out of the closet" but that wasn't exactly your point.
I'm feeling like chicken right now..

i've had plenty of good times listening to music that is minimal-ish.. granted people spent many years saying it would never work on the dance floor (remind you of something else? esp. dubstep...) but now it has peaked internationally as party music. ibiza = minimal.. not that it's any defense of the style or anything heheh... but within any style there's good and bad, boring and inventive, i thought carola was playing minimal like somebody who has just discovered it, someone who doesn't understand the genre that well, and someone who doesn't have the balls to think outside of the box and mix it up as much as we all know he could -cause he def. has the skills. but i think he's stuck in that purist techno mindframe, unable perhaps to escape the small-mindedness of his present tastes and beliefs. hrhm hrhm. imho.

Dubstep works on the dance floor? i thought it was the musical rejects from video game config menus. I was disappointed by his set, really disappointed. Left early.

Is tractor that program that mixes the music for you?

Thats pretty fucking lame...although I don't know any international dj that tours with records anymore...

Can you guys name one artist from Europe that you've seen dj with vinyl while on tour in North America in the last 5 [ years...ca ] I can't...

And why was he playing minimal at a party...I mean I could play that shit in a RESTAURANT and people would still fall asleep...zzzzzzzz...
