| Well, if you look at it, DnB can incorporate elements from any other genre of music, and we're (mostly) open to it. Metal/industrial remixes, smooth funky/jazzy tracks, pots-and-pans-falling-down-the-stairs-with-a-gabber-kick, dark techno-influenced, hiphop remixes/vocal tracks, hardcore/gabber influenced stuff, trance-influenced, house influenced, jump-up/clownstep.. There's a lot wider room for variety in DnB than there is in psy, DnB is all about having fun and, for the most part, not taking things too seriously (Drumz clothing and Glodie asside).
Once, at the Bain Mathieu, when Bassic and Plan-C were doing OUR radio show, they played a 90s dance track in the middle of a breaks/electro set, and this psy-freak came up to them and actually YELLED at them to take that shit off because we're not in highschool anymore, no one wants to hear that kind of shit, and that's the attitude I've noticed most from the psy-heads; it's not about having fun, it's about being as closed off to outside influences as possible because "If it's not our style, it sucks" |
