| Historically a lot of americans were pro nazi/german, whether because they had german forefathers or because they were ideologically inclined to support the fascism, the famous colonel Lindbergh - first pilot to cross the atlantic solo- for example was a friend of Hermann Goering and even got a German Eagle; a Luftwaffe medal of honor. Heck he even lobbied to make sure the USA stays out of the war in Europe.
Also, known companies such as IBM, through its German subsidiary helped supply the nazi with tools to track down the Jews during the Holocaust, furthermore IBM has refused to apologize for its collaboration and didnt even try to deny its implication in the Shoah.
I'm not saying it excuses Bush, just that supporting fascism and dictatorial regimes isnt a monopoly of the Bush family, to the contrary its a long time practice in the US elite circles.
On a final note, Georges "Dubya" Bush was a drunkard until his early 40's oO |
