the sound in the trance room was absolute shit tho. The lighting was also completely non existant but i suppose you can't expect much for 10$. I was kinda blown away by how bad some of the local talent was. A dj playing out shouldn't be train wrecking, that is something bed room djs do. The way some djs would bring in tracks completely out of phrase as well as some of the djs that had absolutely no idea how to eq having both basses present made me chuckle. I'm sure it was alot worse considering how fucking goobered i was. I did think the actual people there were generally all pleasant and no gang bs like i am used to when i used to go to these things in calgary. It is too bad the promoters didn't charge a little more and put more effort into the party with lighting and maybe some djs that actually knew how to dj. I think 45 minute sets are kinda rediculous and usually end up in djs just playing all their hits .I also was a little blown away by how most of the djs were kinda huge dorks with absolutely no stage presence. OH well. The lineup was a little weird having the night end with some of the fastest music. Maybe i didnt' do the right drugs but at 7 am , you should be playing something a little slower because unless you are a a complete speed freak , you won't have energy to dance. Again i suppose i'm just listing things they could improve on but i thought i got my moneys worth. I mean i really can't expect anything more for 10$ so i suppose given those restraints , it was great. So maybe just keep those things in mind for next time. One other thing i noticed that could be dangerous , of course it didn't seem like there were any gangmembers there like there are in calgary but there was no checking for weapons in the rear entrance. I suppose having come from a place were people get shot if you don't use metal detectors at the raves , it seemed a little sloppy but oh well. It did allow me to smuggle in all my beer so it was very nice. |

If you are referring to the trance room, I already was playing much slower than i usually do and not going for the dark stuff. That was easily the most "uplifting" style set i have ever played :P |

Its not slow but I also wasn't playing at 150bpm except for mabey the very last 3-4 mins of the last song where i brought the pitch up. I also said it was slow for me. I don't own anything under 140bpm that isn't hardstyle and I didn't think that would have gone over as well ;-) |

Would've been nice to have some bass in the hardcore room (where I played) but I had a great time anyways. Considering it was 10$ that was an insane party - if it had been 20$ I would've commented about lighting though. Massive thanks to Chamm, Axel and Tipsy for the booking! |
