Do you mean the same England that was one of the only countries that was on the side of the USA during the Iraq war?
As for France, one might assume that perhaps some people were pissed about the constant riots and car torchings by 'youths' and decided to vote for a leader who promised to be tough on immigration... I suspect it will get worse though, since there are many 'youths' who are not happy with the new democratically-elected leader. There will be riots either way... Also in the liberal-media, french 'youths' is a code-word for immigrants from North-African countries.
