I loved the party before the bust. Awesome Venue, A+ vibe, cool sound/light set up, lazers, and all sorts of rave goodies like a wading pool filled with stuffed animals, an entire wall for freeform drawing/tagging/general rave message board...

I was excited to play, even more so with the timeslot shift in the upper room so that I'd be right after Luna-C instead of oper-lapping by 30m. (4-5am... How I love thee as a timeslot at raves)

I'm sure you guys feel terrible about all of this - Everything looked like it was going so well. I know that your make-up event and your "come-back" events in the future are going to be awesome, I know for sure that I'll be at them partying it up massif-styles.

Bonus points go to Drixel's set - I'm happy that we made excellent time driving out to Montreal so I was able to catch the last half of it. (Sarcastic and Reese Taylor sounded pretty cool too)
I'm feeling hiveminded right now..

Besides the bust, thierry's set fucken kicked ass .. electro-house style all the way.. some really fun tracks that made me dance.. it was by far the best beats of the night.. Sarcastic and Rys' came in second to my tastes and definatly rocked it harder than the T-man.. Drixel's set was fun too for what i heard.. it was wierd hearing DnB both up and downstairs at the same time... he he he..

i'm really sad about the bust and i was pissed at the pigs for the rest of the night..

for all those whom attended this event, you will get a 10$ discount on Rewire entrance with proof of attendance.. if you don't have a ticket (beacuse you paid at the door), please contact me to make the proper arrangements !!

keep it real guys !!

I think we all need to sort of get together and look at the recent busted parties and figure out why they were busted and figure out a way to keep parties from being busted.
I'm feeling bummed right now..

I suggest finding a remote cliff and building a giant wicker candy raver... then putting the sacrifice inside and torching it.

for some reason being put inside a giant wicker candy raver sounded worse then being sacrificed to some non-existing gods.

DMTio - the thing is you'd be burned alive inside the giant wicker candy raver... but as long as you don't start waving glowsticks around and repenting you'll be ok. Y'know - tough it out like the Equalizer did, and don't make some kind of last-minute statement that you were wrong (à al Joan of arc)....

Hi guys ... going to follow this up with a complete explanation later when i'm not so exhausted and can put my thoughts together

1. It was not sound issues that got the party shut down.
2. The police gave us two reasons for the shutdown which i offered to fix (speakers blocking an exit and an enclosure around an exit). After i told them we were happy to fix these issues immediately the cop said "Look, you can shut the party down now or I'll have the fire department come and they can fine you for every single tiny issue that's wrong with this place."

The venue was no more or less 'illegal' or 'unsafe' than any of the other warehouse venues we've used over the 3 years of throwing parties in Montreal. In fact, this event had more security on hand than ever to guarantee tight control and safety was in effect. The fact that the cops arrived en mass makes me believe that the shutdown was a foregone conclusion before they even stepped through the door. I'll explain further on that but at the moment I'm tired, sick, and exhausted from the weekend. Obviously this is the worst possible scenario that could have happened and we're working to figure out how we'll compensate for it. Those who know us know that we always work things out in the end. It's just more complicated than just announcing something : we did not give ticket stubs back at this event so figuring out who to compensate becomes pretty damned tricky. However, we will figure something out.
I'm feeling fucking hyped right now..
