if a cop was pretending to be a drugdealer at berri, lets say, and someone approached him to buy drugs, then that could be regarded as the buyer initiating the sale. nevertheless it is entrapment. if the cop hadnt been there in the 1st place, then in theory there would have been no one to buy drugs off of, and the buyer is still innocent. the cop posing as a dealer is equivalent to setting a trap. as far as i know its still legal to THINK about illegal things, even if you don't necessarily carry them out.
if this guy got contacted, then went to meet this cop-cum-drugdealer, and got arrested for "buying drugs", any defense lawyer worth his salt would have it tossed out of court so fast.
if anything though, the cops could probably watch this guy, see who he DOES buy drugs off, then arrest that person....

if i'm way off, feel free to correct me with some backed up argument. legalese is pretty goddam obscure alot of the time

dude, you said you GOT one. that implies that YOU got one in YOUR NAME. Not that your ALIAS got one, or that your ALTER EGO got one. I never get tired of reading your posts, does that answer your question?

I've seen it countless times on cops where the police pose as drug dealers and prostitutes then arrest people who approach them..

Fuck, Cops is almost as good a source of legal information as Wikipedia. I have often seen the lawyers on Law and Order cite Cops during their trials, and in fact, sometimes they even show juries videos of Cops to make sure everyone truly understands.

laws vary from state to state in the u.s. as they do from province to province here in canada...

personally i don't see either one of you guys posting any legitimate references to either quebec or canadian criminal law...

which gives me the impression that you guys are both just int0rweb jackasses trying to get the last word.

not that i know anything about that.....
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..

I didn't say I know the laws around this, but this guy's asking for trouble asking for drugs like that, cause who knows if a cop reads it and decides to have some fun and get him arrested..

it's just a bad idea.

i think what the cop can do is to follow this guy untill he buys some then get everyone caught

they have to arrest you for at least 2 criminal charges, you cannot be accused of "trafic de stupefiant" if your not accused of possesion ...

so yes morphine is pretty right i think
