Do you think it is possible to make a long-distance relationship work ?

Would you rather just break up instead of having to worry all the time ???

Drunken rants / advice / shocking revelations / embarrassing pictures in this thread please !
I'm feeling hyper right now..

Define "long distance"

Montreal-Singapore or Montreal-Quebec ? :P

Personally, if it was such a long distance that it could be a serious problem, I'd consider moving, rather than breaking up, if the person was important enough to me.
I'm feeling full vieille ! tsé right now..

When i first met my boyfriend he lived in france and he was going to school in Paris he just went to Montreal for a few weeks on vacation. It was love right away. We managed to see ourselves every three months for one year , after one year he called me from up there and told me : I bought a one way ticket, Im coming to stay in Montreal. That was, i think, the best day of my life...It all made it worth it !! and now it s been almost 5 years and still great. For me that was an awesome experience, i love challenge and we based our relationship on respect and trust!!! voila !!!
I'm feeling soleil right now..

i went months with a iqaluit/montreal relationship where we would see each other every month or two or so and now it is a quebec city/montreal relationship and we see each other more often
but that early long distance part just served to reinforce us
understand that the chemistry is magic and the universe is working for us
without that then it couldn't be
personally speaking
I'm feeling closer to my reality right now..

I'm in a "Aunthsic - Petite-Patrie" relationship right now and we're doin' pretty well, it's a bit difficult cause the bus 45 doesn't pass very often after 9, but sometime we take a cab cause we're really in love, indeed my girlfriend told me she would move closer to me so we could see each other more often...

She's very important to me you know...

Here's a drawing i made of her:

I think that it's possible to make a long distance relationship work. I am in one right now and I'm moving in two months to be with the man I love. I would never have let him go because of the distance factor.

If it's clear that you love each other, then everything is possible. You also have to be confident and be able to trust each other while being far away. That's probably the hardest part of the deal, but at the same time, it's the most important thing in a relationship. So if these are clear from the beginning, you can make it work.

^_^
I'm feeling mucho happy right now..

WHOA...
this thread is pretty coincedental...
i just got back from toronto and i can't stop thinking about this AMAZING chick i spent the weekend with...
like how often do i meet a smokin' hot 28 year old straight edge b-girl who listen to dayglo abortions is covered in tatoos, teaches yoga, has her own homeopathic practice, acts like a dorky 12 year old and treats me like i'm the fuckin' king?
it's a pretty pretty big change from the usual 21 year old superficial self centered coke sluts i usually find my self chasing and let walk all over me.
now that i'm home i'm all exited and confused??
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..

Long distance relationships are hard but can work.
I went back home to Sydney for 6 months while my partner stayed in England. It was a long 6 months and a very testing time but if your both willing to make it work then you can. He actually flew over for christmas to surprise me and proposed to me on the beach on chirstmas day. I ended up surprising him during one of his gigs he was playing at on his birthday. His present from his friends was 'me' and we did a back to back set. Since then I have flown back to Sydney for a month and planning to do more again often but after all the tears, pain and missing each other we realised that that if we could survive somthing so hard as a long distance relationship then we survive anything.

If your in a relationship thats long distance. Dont give up because 'its to hard'. If you want anything in life it can happen! make sure you both have a strong communication and alot of trust needed all the way.

I tried it before and it didn't work out.. it sucks because if you are busy 1 weekend and can't see the person, then you have to wait another week till you have free time.

now, about Montreal - Singapore, your crazy.. :) LOL

i think it's can work if at some point one person in the couple plan to moove.. when i met my husband i was living in mtl and he was living in nyc..

it was very romantic that often he make 16 hours of bus just to come past 1 night with me. and i did the same...
it's make me feel very special... there's millions of women in nyc and there's millions of men in mtl; i feel that we really chose each others..

distance is not important if you really find your soulmate....
I'm feeling hitched right now..

I tried long distance once...it didnt go well. Had an ex in the city i lived in wanting back with me...and i was a simp who couldnt manage to tell her no...so that pretty much made the long distance thing not work out well. It was my own fault for not sticking to my guns.

however, the good news, is we're trying it again. (me and the girl from afar) I'm excited.

oh, and hello, first post. *waves*
