Meeting Ravewavers

 Coolness: 91785 | What makes this board interesting is that people tend to express themselves quite openly - their thoughts, annoyances, hopes, fears, beefs, and more - making strangers aware of what would normally be considered personal material.
After scanning this board for some time now, I began to form impressions of people, even those I never met. Of course, much of the details about these people I have never met is missing - which leads to my imagination filling in the gaps. This results in a feeling of knowing that person, but in a superficial sense - like "knowing" the character of a sitcom you regularly watch. Every few days, I glance through ravewave to read the new developments in these "characters" lives, much like an obsessed soap opera fan. When of course I actually have a chance to meet a person from ravewave for the first time, there is an enourmous curiousity to compare what the person is like in real life, as compared to my mental idea of that person, part based on whats on this site, part based on imagination. Every little detail of the person - their voice, posture, exspressions, etc - becames either a confirmation or a denial of the mental image existing beforehand of that person. Anyone else feel the same way? P.S. NICE TO MEET YOU!!!! |

i completely understand that who someone is in real life may be different than how they express themselves on a site.... I saw some of you tonight....heheheh maybe you saw me? Gordo (are you Aullin? you seem really cool and friendly)..Gen,Wisp,Nter(hahaha you seem like a sweetheart in person...not like the badass you portray yourself to be here), i think i saw you guys.... Some people seem approachable (i go by vibes),it was nice to see the faces behind the "characters" Some things are better when seen from afar.... |

But look, in the silly games section you get to find out what each person has done that day, what pissed them off :o, what turns them on ;), what makes them happy:), what makes them saaad :( .. to a point where yes you really do know these people.. Alot of us on this site ARE close friends and its just a place to vent and have fun at each others expence openly.. It scares me sometimes though.. how much someone I've never met knows about whats going on in my life and vice versa.. |

And yeah, it's pretty funny sometimes, people you've only seen like once or twice can know so much about you. Helps keep us all together. :) Now, I wonder what people's ideas on me are, what with all the insane/sick/perverted/dissgusting things I post all the time. :) |
