I prefer Fruity Loops, but for tracker interface, I'd say Buzz. It's not exactly a tracker, but the interface is very similar. It's like Reason and IT in one.

Impulse Tracker was my tracker of choice, it had the most power out of the dos trackers, including filters!

The HELLZ ARMY (TENSE , NEVERMIND & The TYRANT) was trackin and mixing even doing beatmatching with 3 laptop using FASTTRAKER 2

lots and lots of people in the european hardcore scene use 2 computer with trakers for mixing and doing live instead of the turntables!

I haven't been using trackers so much lately since I prefer playing all my melodies on a midi keyboard now and I need programs with good midi support. Still prefer trackers for drums though

i think i will dl modplug right now
great program
straightfowrard and the vst fx is just lovely
buzz is nice but i feel more accustomed to the modplug interface but the modular framework of buzz is what makes it special
there was another program i tried that reminded me of it abit - audiomulch
that one is quite decent too
i never went much further than tracking and multitracking in computers
trackers have small footprints and are straightforward - just need to add more functionality and it is updated for current standards. still a good tool in a producers arsenal to this day. some of you know lot of classic "rave" tunes were done on trackers

fruity loops is cool
never got much into it
too much fluff maybe
the x0x horizontal method is always good
but for more detailed stuff it helps to have more than 16 notes to a measure
and i tend to like the vertical interface of the tracker "proper"
trackers are a good basis for electronic composition
with midi and synthesis knowledge
and abit of musical intuition
but i am looking forward to learning a program like max
though i dont know if i ever will go there
whatever
yeah i remeber going to parties
and seeing guys with two computers running ft2 and mixing that up

I've seen Doormouse perform on two PCs running FT2 + two turntables for live sampling... that was sick... but when he brought in Josh Anonymous to handle scratching and sampling and concentrated on the trackers himself... that was sicker...

Snares did a few shows using Octamed, but got fed up with the downtime caused by crashing computers and switched over to using cds.

i dl'd buzz the other night. and depite the learning curve (not too long anyways) and the fact u gotta be putting variables on every line almost for every track its a great little program. having a gas just making simple acid tracks and stuff. pretty powerful if you have the patience and a decent computer...

ps musta been pretty frikking ill mr. fishead
