man, i must have been the only kid who had read the comic books because this movie totaly represents one that i had. Fucken Dark Phenix n shit, charles that explodes, magneto that looses his powers... I dunno about you, but the reference to the comixs in this one is better than the two previous one's..

I really liked the movie and i was glad to have gone to see it.

*Cough* What?

I still have the Dark Phoenix Saga series. Dark Phoenix only becomes so after Mastermind turns her into the Black Queen, to rule the Hellfire Club. Xavier is pretty much alive... just not the X-Men's leader anymore. Scott is also alive. Magneto wasn't even there at the moment.

What the hell are you talking about?

It might have been those X-men cartoons then that i have in mind.. or maybe they took idea's from a bunch of comics they printed and combined them into 1 movie..

either way, i liked it !

There were definitely some good scenes. I just didn't like Ian McKellen and everyone dying all of a sudden.

But entertainment-wise, it was fun.

I enjoyed the 1st two movie but honestly, this thirs was was pure garbage... just another example of how hollywood can butcher an epic classic to appeal to the public masses.

First off, why was Nightcrawler completely written off & neglected? there was no mention of him whatsoever in this movie which really upset me.

Secondly: there was no mention of Juggernaut's relationship to Professor X (aren't they brother?)... but then again there was no mention of the fact that Mystique is Nightcrawler's mother in the 2nd movie or the fact that Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike (AKA Uriko) have their own history which could simply have been done in the form of a flashback or dream sequence,.... and don't even get me started on the fact that they tossed Legion (Professor X's son) in the 2nd movie so half-hazardly with no reference whatsoever... (although some speculate that it was Mastermind, who's illusions I doubt would even affect the professor.

Third: Juggernaut is supposed to be huge... why did they get cast that british guy from Eurotrip when they couldve simply gotten one of those guys from the world's strongman competition instead? and they also beglected to mentio n that he's no even a mutant and gets his power from the crytal in his suit of armor.

Forth: why was little ms Pride made part of the team? her youthful inexperienced character portrayal would be completely insignificant in any sort of "last stand" scenario... It's truly unfortunate that Gambit wasn't included instead... which at least wouldve allowed the movie producres to reference the relationship between him and Rogue instead of setting her up with Iceman which never happens anywhere in the comics or the cartoons

Fifth: Why wouldnt angel have joined the team if the xmen were so outnumbered?

Sixth: I don't think that simply being in the 1st two movies should allow Pyro, who's a very low-class mutant to have more hiarchtical authority as Magneto's right hand man than any of the other mutants in the brotherhood including Juggernaut...

Seventh: why was the danger room scene at the beginning of the movie even labeled "In the not too distant future" anyways?...unless of course they were forshsdowing the forth movie which hopefully includes Bishop and Cable

anyways... thats my rant

Mmph. Wolverine's getting his own flick, alongside a "young' Mags storyline, and allegedy... *sighs heavily* that bitchy sexpot Emma Frost is getting one too (though it doesn't matter that she hasn't appeared once), and the kids... we'll never see a proper canon Rogue meeting Carol Danvers, but if they actually go through with it, there should be some wrap-up with the munchkins.

No mention of Gambit.

Fine by me. If Fox were to treat Remy like they did Callisto, Psylocke and Arclight - leave out Remy and keep his character untainted. I'll die a happy woman.

Someone on LJ made the allusion to X3 being like every cheesy subplot from the Ultimate series, and I agree. Too fast, too shallow, and I fucking hate Kitty Pryde with a fiery burning passion that has yet to be rivaled anywhere else. (Have I mentioned how far out of character they pushed these folks? No? Rogue wouldn't sacrifice her powers for anything - not even Remy. I'm omitting the few exceptions where the situation was beyond her control, but its not like Fox has been paying attention of comic book canon to begin with.) Stupid, shallow, idiot writers. Get Claremont on your writing team before contacting the producers. Kthx.

Pretty much dead on, medici! Though Claremont IS working on X-Men: The End, which ALSO deals with characters in a very stupid way... I mean, Remy, a Summers?!?

I'm not sure what the lesser of two evils is: Remy as Death with his messed plans to overtake Apoc or that. I gave up on the title the instant I heard the Shi'ar were back.

Whatever.

I'm putting my hopes on Fairy Tales where there is no massively ambitious story arc to mess up too terribly.

There's something to be said about a comics company who can only please the old fans through non-canon limited series and then scare them away with their main stories...

I nearly passed out in Ultimate when I saw Nick "Samuel Shaft Jackson" Fury...

OMG. I can't see Fury in any other way now. Guy was never meant to be white... even in 1602 when they gave him a ruffled collar. Nonono. Ultimate's redefined him.

Are you following Astonishing by any chance? I've been a little skittish about the title since I'm not a Whedon fan, but all I've heard has been good so far.
