this was inspired from some dialogue myself and some [ rave.ca ] but munches were having in the review section
now what i want to know is why do you think the raves in montreal suck so hard when compared to the average standard for parties in Canada. There must be a logical reason other than french people are fucking that up too. So please enlighten me. |

i suppose i should clarify
by suck i mean the raves here tend to shine of unprofessionalism , bad planning , moron promoters and a general air of retardation. Of course that could probably be applied to almost every business in quebec but i want to know why this applies specifically to parties in montreal. |

There must be a logical reason other than french people are fucking that up too. So please enlighten me. It has nothing to do with the french people. Im french an I still know how to party very well.. 1- rave snowadays have more people with alcohol in their bodies the the other stuff around, it's not the same vibe. 2- I think that here in montreal, we are so used to having amazing internationnal Dj's that we are getting v ery very very difficult with the selection of events we go to. I personally think that ther eis amazing local dj's that are here and are here to be discovered, one of the main goal of techno.fm. 3- well parties are harder and harder to organized, the lawd, permits, problems. security... it's all becomming much of a pain. Not very much a way to keep a underground private party anymore... Tim change, we got to deal with it. Misty |

i think raves in montreal are cool, and become better and better the more people get together and help the scene.
i also think if we say why things suck it is more constructive to approach with a solution and give our hands and energy to make it happen. |

not to feed the frenzy but I find a lot of montreal people in general (promoters and party goers) don't seem to respect their local DJ's / Producers very much and seem to think they need to have international faces to make a party appealing... There are a lot of terribly under-rated talented people in the city... (and I'm not speaking about myself and my weirdo music) |

I couldn't disagree with that. I find people in other cities seem to get much more into it. A lot of places they have all kinds of cool dancers and stuff you don't find here also. We definitely have some kind of raver spirit missing here. You have to keep in mind we have multiple parties every day of the weekend though, while in other cities they will only have a rave once a month, or once every two months. Also, there are not as many drugged up people here in general. Here we actually have people that don't necessarily do drugs at every rave. Too much of a good thing is never good. |

Well for my part, when I go out, where/what ever it is. I don't personnally care what people think. I get my fun and I usually suck people into my vibe.. But what we have in other cities, is a lot opf what people here judge, and judge very fast as "Quetaine". Neways je trouve ca dommage... le monde de I love the music and dancing is disapearing. Let people have their fun, smile, and dance your heart off... that is what I do.. basically can;t get off a dance floor or interacting with teh dj's either. There are lots of good parties left. But i think, if youg o out, and ultimately think that you're gona have fun and whatever happends you're there to have your fun.. how can it go wrong ? I just wish our local dj's had more credit. Usually get creit once they are popular out of their own town... ex.: Preach ( I love that Dj by the way) but we had to loose him to notice "hey that Dj, is very good".. I can name many others.. but I think it's the latest major DJ we lost. Misty |

maybe you should send Anne Rice a letter about how she forgot a comma in one of her novels.
If that is all you go man , well that is pretty fucking sad. |

Oh madforbrad... he`s so quirky and dumb. And yeah.. I say our raving spirit is low just because we`re spoiled.. I mean.. I`ve been raving off and on for what... 6 years now... and often I`m like *yawn... another rave*... because basically I can rave whenever I want, and then I take it for granted. |
