Well it was in the news... Way back in June.

Something about Heritage Canada and Tourisme Québec no longer recognizing Diver/cité as an Artistic Presenter and the festival no longer qualify for grants. Leaving the festival a little short on cash...

Divers/cite faces budget cuts at late stages of festival planning

By Jarmila Dokladalova

The records on the internet site of Heritage Canada reveal no record of funding for any of the Pride festivals last year and phone calls inquiring more information from the agency were not returned.

In addition, the festival has seen its funding cut from Tourism Quebec, which recognized the series of Pride events as award-winning on three separate occasions.

“With Tourism Quebec, there is a history,” asserted Girard at the press conference. “There was the Societe des evenements majeurs internatiouanx de Quebec (SDEMQ) which was disbanded a couple of years ago. We were getting $99,000 from them and $25,000 from tourism Quebec.”

The festival had originally received $124,000 from this steam of funding, which was cut to $100,000 when the SDEMDQ was disbanded. For the last two years, the festival was receiving $100,000 from Tourisme Quebec, but this year the sum was cut to $50,000.

Either way... I'm glad it's going on. Last years event was great and I support anything that involves bringing people out to dance to Electronic Music on the streets of Montreal.

Oka was really awsome. they had a dj with live drums, sax, and dijereedoo. got the crowd shakin!
And RuPaul was really... well... gay, but I had to see her/him. I mean, I remember that video from like a decade ago and i knew so many people who didn't believe it was a guy. hahaha. I wonder how many straight guys thought she was hot?
the Sex Garage stage had some great stuff, lots of sexy people there.
