i have footage of 100 parties where the crowd is having a blast. and guess what ,there was mc'ing., I was simply getting into thye topic of why montreal dj's are scared to let people on the mic... Often there are anglo only MCs and a majority of french attendees. Thats not good. (on a side note, i'd really like to hear some french mcing, but i understand it is considerably harder to be good at it) Often you can barely hear any word correctly, because of the sound set up. Thats not good. Often you can barely hear any word correctly, because the MC cant fucking hold a mic. Thats not good. Then again, often, the type of parties where a mc is enjoyable (dnb, dj sets) the sound is often too loud and poor so when there is a MC on top its just horrible. Like most ppl here, i enjoy good mcing, as long as it is not all the time. I think mcing over a dj should be to get the crowd hyped and then backing off and letting the dj do his thing. I also like oldschool mcing when the mc would flatter the crowd and the dj rather than the 'i fuck girls up their ass and shoot cops' mcing we get now. MC, in case most forgot, means Master of Ceremony. That means the role is to get the thing rolling smooth, especially the transitions, so being there between DJs, announcing them, announcing anything the promoters needs to announce, making key (but relatively short) appearances during sets to create moods. I also think the headliner DJs of any parties of any kind should be announced by a MC with great enthousiasme |

its an example showing the fact that mc's tend to repeat their names to the crowed and to themselves a bit too much... i dont know about you but that woulndt hype me up very much..... someone has a large ego???!!!!
