To mark the 20th anniversary of the Live Aid shows, Bob Geldof is organising another set of concerts this summer
"This time, the concerts are free, and there's a different aim -- to put pressure on world leaders to tackle poverty. The concerts will take place just days before leaders of the world's rich countries meet in Scotland for the G-8 summit on 6-8 July. Anti-poverty campaigners hope the G-8 leaders will be listening to the message of "Live 8." there will be 5 shows all taking place at the same time on July 2nd, in London, Philadelphia, Rome, Paris, and Berlin. here's the confirmed line-up so far: London Coldplay The Cure The Killers Velvet Revolver Bob Geldof Mariah Carey Dido Keane Snow Patrol Elton John Annie Lennox Madonna Paul McCartney Razorlight Snoop Dogg Sting U2 Joss Stone Stereophonics REM Scissor Sisters Muse Robbie Williams Philadelphia Will Smith Bon Jovi The Dave Matthews Band Stevie Wonder Jay-Z Puff Daddy Il Divo Rome Faith Hill Tim McGraw Duran Duran Berlin A-Ha Crosby, Stills and Nash Lauryn Hill Brian Wilson Paris Jamiroquai Placebo Youssou N'Dour the shitty thing is, you have to win tickets by text messaging. who's coming to London with me if i win? ;) |

Geldof is such a poser, did you ever check into how much of the money generated actually went to help anyone in famine? Farm Aid, now there's a worthy concert charity. |
