Well, I'm telling you from personal experience, as well as from having heard from other people. Unless something ELSE in cough syrup that contained only DXM as the active ingredient can fuck you up.

Read some of the trip reports.

Briefly, it started with seeing a lot of regular, brightly colored, 3-dimensional geometric patterns through which I moved at terrifyingly fast speeds. The patterns struck me as simultaneously aspects of impersonal space/time, myself, and alien intelligences.
...
Coming down, I found that when I shut my eyes, abstract shapes and patterns 'morphed' into rooms that were similar to the one I was lying in. Whenever the achieved coherency, they'd dissipate, then reform. Once or twice, the 'rooms' seems so coherent that I was able to sit up and explore them, much like in a lucid dream. A few of the 'rooms' were bizarre/alien -- in one, I found myself beneath a tree from which hung gigantic orange flowers. Each flower had a face which looked upon me with benevolent amusement.

One song took me especially hard, and I began speaking along with the music. I repeated phrases of severe importance over and over, telling my friend what I was seeing. A small man was telling me these things as a drill was slowly being pushed into my temple. It drilled into my brain behind my eyes, and I repeated over and over, 'Let yourself belive you've never seen light like this before.'

The next few hours were like a blur. All I remember were patterns of green and red and alien like visions. Sound was very distorted and I remember being very confused. I saw visions of myself as a young child and visions of me lying in bed when I was younger and having tough times and somehow being comforted by it.

well I believed you about your experience. I just don't think it would be correct to say it's a hallucinogen. One things for sure that vision is distorted somehow but I'm pretty sure its not a classic effect of the drug to have an acid-like effect. I don't doubt that it happens and probably more then other drugs that arent in the halluciogen family. But it's still a dissociative, and it still feels like one even if there are crazy hallucinations to add with it I'm sure it must carry a characteristic effect of a dissociative.

Yeah, the main effect that I can remember from it is that no matter how insane and unbelievable the halucinations were, reality was such a weird concept that they seemed completely real. No matter how much I told myself that it was the drugs doing this, what I saw WAS real. I was also pretty numb and got that robo-itch. That made the trip take a turn for the worst. I don't even know how I could describe it, there are no words in this (or any) language that can describe what 800ml of that stuff will do to you, even worse than Under the Tunel when I ate 3 handfulls of that shake while on MDA for a first shroom trip.

hey, robo-walking is cool. I tried drinking it once but I couldn't even finish a sixth of a bottle, I dunno how you stomached 3 or 4 or however many that is. I'm really happy abotu these gel-caps, I'm gonna be pissed if they don't have them in Canada. Why are our pharmacies so gay?

Robo-walking is cool! Robo-itching is not! :lol

Our pharmacies don't have the caps because you can get high off them. Most cough syrups come with something in it to make you puke if you drink too much. It's their way of trying to prevent kids from getting fucked up on over the counter shit when they can't get a hold of "real" drugs.

I've never had hallucinations on DXM like what Fred described, but they do occur for some people. In my 3rd plateau experiences, I usually have my eyes closed, and am able to "see" places such as rooms or landscapes. Sometimes I even "see" the exact room I'm in, and can move around in it in my imagination, even though I'm actually just lying down with closed eyes. Sometimes I can't even remember if my eyes are closed or open. If I did open my eyes, my vision would be so fucked up that I'd be functionally blind.
