that happened during hte prohibition

They legalised liquor because they realised making it illigal had no advantages. People still drank, they didn't make any money off the sales , and it was causing crime.

Do you honestly think that becuase something is more natural it's safer? People have to get over this natural obsession. All chemicals used to make drugs come from plants. In shrooms the chemical is already present enough that extraction and such things are un-necessary. Chemicals are natural. Eating Belladona will kill you, but it's okay cause it's 'natural'.

Umm, i didnt say shrooms were safer.. I don't know why you decided to make a connection between natural and safe... because I didnt. My key words were: 'natural,' and 'easier to grow' - not natural and safer, nor did I define natural as meaning safe.... Really, i think u must have been stoned when you wrote this, because your reply just doesnt fit to what was said

I dunno, I thought you were saying the same thing reading your original post. It came off like you were saying that. Since it's something you can grow yourself, most people tend to think that it would be a pretty safe thing (when's the last time anyone grew a plant that they knew was poisonous for the purpose of eating it? other than shroom growers, of course ;) )

of course, there is a black market for alcohol!

Ideally, drugs ought not to be legal. But that belongs on a planet that has its basic and psychological needs fulfilled.

You can't have a black market on something that you can sell in a convenient store. Black markets are created by things being illegal. The wine your uncle makes in his basement is not being shipped in containers by the hells angels.

this is a pretty simple concept

you could define black market as whatever you want -- but
there is a black market in the sense that there is illegal trafficking of alcohol. People steal alcohol to resell it. People get really cheap liquor, beer, alcohol and sell it cheap -- You can sell alchol illegally. You can also sell drugs in the store--it's just that we're currently not supposed to.

you made two points in your statement a:shrooms are natural followed by PLUS b:easier to grow.
first of all, what difference does it make that they are natural? - that is what I was disputing. I can't fathom why anyone would make such a statement as if it matters. second of all, what are they easier to grow then? You can't just have any delinquent growing shrooms filled with contam. - which I should have disputed

I'm not pro drugs but I'm pro plants and mushrooms.. It's sad that these plants and mushrooms are descriminated against because some people decided they were 'wrong'. Seriously someone needs to stand up for leafy plants and mushrooms. Stop the hate...

all of them should be legal...they do just as much damage to the brain as drinking alcohol does - alcohol shrinks the brain and u get liver damage........e puts holes in ur brain and if anything weed is less harmfull than both...don't knwo about shrooms though...only did them 2x

"e puts holes in ur brain"

okay... letsee the clinical data on those specifics.. LOL "holes"?

And alcohol literally "shrinks" your brain? I had no idea. I thought it merely shut down higher brain functions. No wonder my head feels lighter when I'm drunk.

One issue, however, must be clarified. The MTV program profiled a young woman who had been a frequent user of ecstasy and a number of other drugs. On the program, the woman's doctor displayed a brain scan which suggested that her brain was full of holes, implying that the "holes" resulted from ecstasy use. Below is a clarification of the meaning of the brain scan written by Rick Doblin, Ph.D. President of MAPS.

Commentary by Rick Doblin, Ph.D.:

"The recent MTV special on MDMA showed the results of a SPECT scan of a young woman, Lynn Smith, who had used a very large amount of MDMA. Lynn's doctors reported that her SPECT scan showed "holes in the brain" similar to what a scan would look like of an elderly woman who had had multiple small strokes.

The graphic image shown on the MTV special was a 3-D reconstruction of the SPECT image, which clearly showed dramatic and frightening holes throughout her brain. However, this image was in no way a visual representation of the structure of her brain The SPECT scan actually measured the variation in cerebral blood flow in Lynn's brain. The 3-D image was then created by assigning a different color to different amounts of blood flow. How the graphic image looks is a matter of threshold effect on the image processing.

One can take any normal brain SPECT and lower the threshold (lower areas of blood flow assigned a low or zero level of color) , and one will see "holes" on the 3-D image. Conversely, you can also take the same image and adjust (increase) the threshold to "remove the holes". These are not absolute blood flow measurements. The "holes" simply demonstrate relatively lower blood flow compared to the entire brain. One cannot make any statements about whether it's normal or abnormal unless absolute blood flow measurements are made, which requires more sophisticated scanning procedures than were conducted on Lynn Smith.

of course it still has a significant effect on your brain.

Nice caps. I agree that the government has a tendancy to FUCK UP but don't worry because even if the governement does start growing and selling pot, it will just make prices go down and others will still grow. The same shit is going on with cigarettes... you can still buy cigarettes illegaly even though they are sold in every corner store. Give the drug dealers some credit yo!
