*just came back from a psytrance and happy hardcore party
wait... what is the raver code again? oh right... plur! okay, then, why are there so many people that are not applying it? Don't get me wrong, I do not ask you to attend a party where you cannot stand the music but when it comes to insulting, judging and making fun of the people who DO like that music, I think it's kind of sad. When people ask me why I like raving so much, the first thing that usually comes to my mind is how tolerant and authentic the ravers are and you know what? It is not quite true anymore! We are becoming just as shallow as everyone else. |

the problem is that if peeps did not have something to bitch about they would not be happy. That is the bad side to any soical structure...once definded the picking apart begin, along with the bitching....it is called human nature.
What i have noticed for me personally i try to stay way from the jaded peeps It is a shame that PLUR has become an ugly word:( Lee |

peace
love unity respect these are action words to be directed at an ideal too complicated in a material world especially in a place of wordly affairs, such as a HARDCORE rave, where the direction of your action may take a wrong turn... nonetheless solace may find itself in the most absurd situations with certain variables in place |

I rememver a time where raves were a once a month thing. They were mostly held in crappy warehouses or other obscure locations. Pure mdma was the drug of choice and people didn't care what DJ was playing.
Nowadays with 2-3 raves of all sorts per week and a more mainstream crowd, people tend to get bitchy and picky about the music, the location, the DJs, the crowd, the deco, the whatever... you name it. No wonder the concept of PLUR just died more or less and people are just too jaded. If you want to regain that oldschool spirit in parties just do like I do. Throw your own little underground parties with no more than 100 peeps. Advertise by word of mouth and hand pick the people. It just takes a few people to organise and a few dollars to pull off. You'd would be amazed at the results you can get. |

In Da Jungle - monthly drum and bass events that manage to avoid most of the negative aspects you mention. Friendly, intimate vibe, most people know eachother while the crew still manages to put up superior quality shows and bring out of town guests every time.
You're into psytrance (so am I, weird as it sounds jungle and goa are my favorite styles of electronic music), surely you know DJ Galaksy? :) |
