800 X 600 Or 1024 X 768?

i use 1152x864, but designing for 800x600 is stupid, go for 1024x768, anyone with a decent computer will run at that rez. that's simply not true. if you're marketing your site towards average joe surfer, you'll see a pretty even split down the middle for 800x600 and 1024x768 i've seen about 45% each over my sites (and we're talking several million hits over the last 18 months) and most webmasters i've spoken to have numbers in that range. |

whatever, if i just design for 800 600 my images won't be cut off or anything? cause basically i don't want to have to scroll left or down in order to see the whole thing, that totally defeats the purpose of the site. should i just make my images smaller? |

 Coolness: 201465 | if you design it for 800 x 600, it should still look fine at 1024 x 768, but it might look mad small at very high resolutions (if we are talking about a full graphical style site) |
