I just got this...
[ www.directcanada.com ] I want to know if anyone knows of a faster one... Or owns a faster one. The minimum write speed is 28mb/sec, the minimum read speed is 34mb/sec... If there is a faster one, let me know so I'll sell this one and buy the faster one. Must be at least 32gb, 64gb is fine also, although from what I have seen the 64gb ones are HUGE in size.

The limit on USB flas is due to the overhead of USB itself, and the god damn chipsets they use.
I got a 4GB kingston with just under that speed.

I doubt there will be good support for USB 3.0 for another 2 years... When that happens, I'll upgrade...
You also can not buy the Super Talent one anywhere...

That's awesome, buy buying a addon PCIE card to get 2 or 4 USB 3.0 slots seems fucking retarded. Considering in a few months all mobo's will have USB 3.0. I dunno my last machine had 2 PCIe slots and both had cards in them. Seems like a waste to get decent performance. Why not just use ESATA, I've gotten decent performance with that.
Or if you wanna go balls deep, get a SSD with esata (or even usb). Plus, Intel dropped the prices on there 40g SSD. Become pretty reasonable.

It's your opinion, and maybe you can tell that to anyone who buy a brand new PC without USB 3.0 and want's it. For myself, I tested the cards, I'm happy with it and I will sell those as soon as I get a new board.

Of course it's my opinion, I've just spent waay too much money on addon cards to have to sell/dump them in 3-4 months cause it's all onboard. Heheh no hate, just my opinion :)

Just check the new i3 i5 CPU with the GPU on the same chip... you think Intel will do good support on those video drivers... not sure about it... My Intel GMA 4500 still need new drivers to support cheap games and it's 2 years old now lol

The whole point of a USB Flash Key is portability... I don't think I'd get a card since it would only be useful on my computer. In 2 years USB 3.0 will be everywhere so then it will be worth it. Plus the prices will drop by like 5x by then...

side note: i've been using a USB 2.0 key recently, and wow, the difference is really obvious when i use it w/ usb2 supporting 'puters..
transfer stuff to it from old 'puter, takes well over 5 minutes, and then throw it into a new 'puter, takes less than 30 seconds... *is impressed*

Every USB key is different... Too many people are fooled to think all USB 2.0 drives work the same and at the same speed. Some will write at 1mb/sec, some at 3mb/sec and some up to 30mb/sec... They are all USB 2.0 now... Anything for the past 8 years has been like 2.0... But it depends on the quality of the key. You get what you pay for...

To go even further, some chipsets used in USB keys can't be booted off of. While some can. For example my 4GB USB 2.0 key can be booted off of. But you go up 1 serial # set. They can't. It's a real fucking pain in the ass.

Yup I tried everything, plus various os (osx, linux, win, even dos at one point) and it just would not work, plus confirmed online by quite a few other people. I'm hoping this becomes a thing of the past, cause having all my os'es on a key to install would be nice.
