WHEN COMMON SENSE GETS EVICTION NOTICE

Re: "Evictions upheld," March 28 editorial.

How naive of The Post to think that the two grandmothers who were kicked
out of public housing because their grandson was caught with drugs in a
parking lot could have avoided eviction by merely choosing to abide by the
regulations.

Does The Post think that the grandparents will have more control of the kid
when all three are homeless? What little stability the young man had in his
life probably came from his grandparents - and the fact that he had
something of a home. Zero-tolerance policies such as this may be easier to
foist on disenfranchised populations, but usually result in more crime,
welfare and poverty, not less.

I wonder if this policy would apply to George W. Bush, who lives in public
housing and whose daughters were recently cited for underage drinking.
Probably not.
