DRUG PROFIT IS THE ISSUE
Re: "Video offers brutal glimpse of drug cartel," Thursday news story.
Prohibition is largely responsible for the existence of the violent
drug cartellians. Consider that it costs the U.S. government a mere
30 cents an ounce to produce marijuana for an investigational drug
program. That same ounce could fetch $300 on the black market.
It's not the drugs that fuel the vast majority of "drug-related"
violence. The lure and addiction of quick, easy profits motivate
kidnappings, torture and brutality.
