COUNCIL ASKED TO HELP IN CRIME FIGHT

Residents appealed to council to curb crime on their
street.

Three neighbours from Hallsor Drive presented their concerns to
council about increased drug activity and robberies in their
neighbourhood, March 27.

One resident alleged the suspicious activities began six months ago
and centred around one house in particular.

"There have been some incidents of harassment," said one neighbour,
who preferred to not be named. "It's typical angry, young males with
hoodies on bikes."

West Shore RCMP Cpl. Brian Kerr confirmed an investigation is
underway.

"We have received complaints from people living on that street and we
are investigating the situation," he said.

While residents have formed a Neighbourhood Watch, they wanted council
to approve more lighting in the area and install an offset gate in the
access route into the cul de sac from Sooke Road.

Coun. Jason Nault said he would look into getting improved lighting in
the area and councillor Gordie Logan said he would talk to the RCMP.

"Perhaps I could encourage them to move a little faster," he said.
