WHAT WILL REPLACE DRUG BUREAU?

Re "Budget cuts hit state's drug bureau" (California Focus, Aug. 14):
The story notes that state and local drug enforcement officers are
scrambling to deal with a budget cut that could "shut down the state
bureau in charge of enforcing narcotics laws." This should be
investigated further.

What agency will manage the breakup of meth labs in this state? What
agency will track down and arrest violent gang members coming into
California? What agency will work as a partner with local police
departments? This is a political decision that is going to cause an
increase in crime, and help keep violent gang members on the street.
