How can March say that?

To the editor:

More than two weeks have passed since Peter March, professor at St.
Mary's University, stood and addressed some 600 marijuana smokers,
joining them to condone pot smoking and demand legalization of this
act.

I am astounded by the silence that the idiocy of Peter March's
statements on July 1, and again a day later on Brian Phillips's hot
line radio show, has received.

Where are the parents of students past, present and future who will be
educated by this idiot inviting and endorsing an illegal act?

Where are our educators who March suggests are supportive of his
statements? Could he be right about them?

Where are our politicians, most notably our education minister and
justice ministers, and why have they not asked for Mr. March's
resignation in light of his criminal endorsement?

Why haven't the dean of St. Mary's University and other university
officials not addressed this embarrassment brought on by one of their
finest?

As a taxpayer I have no choice but to ask for action on the part of
the above as I don't take kindly to my money paying a salary to an
individual who invites criminal activity.

I also question March's insistence that marijuana has no lasting
effect on users and causes no risk to those associated to users. I
suggest he should try working on a construction site occupied by
stoned operators.

He would find the risk much greater than the risk he now takes as an
orator. The only danger he faces is an irate parent of a student
subjected to his public lectures.

Let's hope our gutless (until now) public servants terminate this man
immediately before more damage is done.
