Fundraiser planned for jailed pot grower
Friends and family members of the man accused of growing more than 4,100
marijuana plants in a BelAir mansion are trying to raise money for his
$500,000 bail,his attorney said Monday.
Todd McCormick, 28, said he was growing the marijuana for medical purposes,
but police said he had far more than anyone would need as allowed under
Proposition 215,which permits medicinal use of the drug.
A group called Herbal Nation was assembling a fundraiser for his defense
in McCormick's home state of Rhode Island, said his mother, Anne McCormick.
