Sound Off Questions about changing drug policy

I was very impressed reading the open letter to Congressman Wayne Gilcbrest
by Robert R. Ryan (Oct. 22) on the legalization of certain drugs. The
questions are well done and well asked. For those who would be horrified by
the legalization of drugs I would like to see their answers to these
questions.

I've been in the middle ground to some degree but I'm leaning to the point
to being sick and tired of my money being spent for losing causes. Send
that letter to Sarbanes and the rest of them that represent this area.

Sound Off : If you smoke, you're on vour own

I concur with Mr. Ryan and his letter to Gilchrest, however I do not agree
100 percent. Legalize and control the drugs. Tobacco, raise the price by $2
a pack. Eliminate smoking in any building except your personal home. Also,
health costs for tobacco related illnesses should not be paid by any
insurance company. You smoke, you're on your own.

Sound Off : Still concerned about Liberty Street

Why can't the city police put a surveillance between Johnson Street and
U.S. 13 on Liberty Street? There are at least two crack honses, they could
at least put someone there in an unmarked car. We're going to take back our
neighborhood, we're tired of all this. We call the police, they've been out
there 10 times, and half the time they go up and giggle with the tenants.
How many times do they have to be called before they are fined?
