RE DAVID Hazell's letter (Dec. 31): The charges of racism at Pearson airport
stemmed from the fact that people of colour, particularly blacks, were much
more likely to be searched than whites - whether the flights were from
Jamaica or the all-white North Pole. In case Hazell and the Sun missed the
point, the study was looking at who were being searched rather than which
flights were being scrutinized. The source of the drugs is just a smoke
screen Hazell is trying to hide behind - with the help of his racist friends
at the Sun.
