Ashigikgha, I should probably mention that someone tried something similar to this once, not too long ago (a few years back, at a certain building on William street), and it failed horribly.

Since it is actually impossible to listen to every single piece of music ever recorded based on the sheer lack of time in a persons lifespan, it is safe to say no one can actually claim to actually know what the best music is (unless of course you have supernatural listening powers ;)

And to be honest, I agree with this post. ^_^

He asked me for suggestions. I am simply filling out a request, to the best of my knowledge and ability.

But, I will be honest, when I think of darkness (in music), innovation, sound experimentation, I think of Industrial. (well, the old stuff anyway)

Each of the following artists/bands/projects are worth looking into. If I recommend an album, this doesn't mean it's their only good material.

Throbbing Gristle (1st, 2nd, 3rd Annual Reports and Throbbing Gristle Live, Volume 1: 1976-1978)
Einsturzende Neubauten (Kollaps and Zeichnungen Des Patient OT)
Coil (How To Destroy Angels (there are many others to choose from, but this is my favorite))
Whitehouse
Autechre
Swans (Filth, Cop, Greed, Holy Money)
Darkthrone (first five FULL LENGTH albums)
Portal (Outre, Swarth)
Tim Hecker (Mirages is my favorite, hands down)
Genocide Organ (Leichenlinie, Under Kontrakt)
KE/HIL (Hellstation)
Aphex Twin

Test Dept. (The Unacceptable Face of Freedom, Terra Firma, Beating The Retreat)
S.P.K (Leichenschrei, Information Overload Unit)

Don't worry guys, one day Dubstep, too, shall be "irrelevant" and "impossible to dance to".

Until then, I shall continue to ensue aural carnage upon all the little dublettes out there. :)

Word.

Most dubstep I've heard use the same technique over and over. Sawtooth pitch enveloped drops.

How innovative and profound.

You know when you're trying to cut up a sample so that eventually, it will be able to loop smoothly? (No clicks or pops) Sometimes, there's only so much you can snip off until it's impossible to get rid of that stupid click...

I am looking for a plugin to solve this. Something that is compatible with Amadeus, Peak Pro, etc. I used to have a plugin like this when I used Peak Pro, but I removed the program of my laptop and I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the web.

HALP.
