He is known to many as an originator and a leader in the Drum and Bass movement. He has played alongside some of the top artists in some of the best venues in endless cities throughout the world. Currently on the Digital Soundboy tour with Benny Page, these 2 hot acts mashed-up are for sure to cause a dance floor frenzy. Shy FX is always keeping It fresh and touring with the best acts in the scene today. Come out and support your local Drum and Bass movement.

Shy FX crashed the British pop charts in mid-1994 with "Original Nuttah," one of the most infectious ragga/jungle anthems of all time. Though the success proved a bit too much for him, he built his reputation back over the course of a few years and became one of jungle's most respected producers. Born in East London, Andre Williams debuted on S.O.U.R. Records (Sound of the Underground) with two 1994 singles, "Gangsta Kid" and "Sound of the Beast." His third for the label, "Original Nuttah," perfectly epitomized jungle's growing ragga-ruffneck style, with a light-speed rhythm track and rude-boy scatting from UK Apachi. Almost immediately after its release, the single ignited dance clubs, flew out of the stores, and eventually made the British charts.

Shy Fx started his own Ebony label soon after, releasing more classic jungle tunes like ‘The Message’, ‘Wolf’. His 1997 ‘Bambaata’ was hailed as tune of the year. Shy started a couple of offshoots such as Ivory- catering for no-nonsense rollers – and ‘Naughty But Nice – for the funkier end of his productions.
But this is his collaborative work with T Power that had so far the biggest impact, mixing their highly credible brand of drum and bass with a strong pop sensibility, with ‘Shake Ur Body’ in 2001 – released on EMI subsidiary Positiva – that made him a household name. It was followed by an album on FFRR ‘Set It Off’ the following year. Shy FX decide to fold all his label to concentrate on a new Digital Soundboy venture in 2005, releasing so far a Shy FX and T Power album ‘Diary of A Digital Soundboy’, as well a providing a choice platform for promising young artists such as Benny Page and Visionary. A solo artist LP is in the pipeline for 2007.

Benny is in high demand for bookings by endless companies around the world. Ruff House is proud to present Benny Page on the Digital Soundboy tour with Shy FX. Some of Benny’s current dance floor hits include “Urban Tribe”, “Rub A Dub”, and of course, “Turn Down the Lights”. Benny is known for rocking crowds around the world with his uncue style of Djing and producing.


Music has always been a big part of Benny’s life, but it really started making an impact on him when he discovered Hip-Hop at the age of 11; artists such as DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog and Nas influenced Benny in a big way.


Benny’s growing passion for music lead him to his school band which he played the drums and learnt the guitar. He discovered Jungle at the age of 15 and being in his band did not seem enough for him musically, jungle music triggered an awakening in him and a growing thirst to make his own music . Tunes such as The House crew’s Super Hero, A-zone’s Calling All the People and Worries in the Dance on London Somet’ing Records were seminal tunes. Before long, Benny was learning to use a sequence on his dad’s PC.


At the age of 16, Benny began a 2 year music technology course, for him. making music became an addiction, phoning in sick all the time to his part-time job so he could live and breathe beats. Realising that this was far more than a hobby. Benny soon realised the only way to put his all into this and progress was if he invested in some quality equipment, so, Benny began working full time. His first break came from the South London based label, Cutterz Choice bringing his first tune, Chainsaws, to wax. This was followed by the success of Addictive which was inspired by the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Brockie and Ash Attack. Shortly after came Sneaker Pimp, it was Benny’s first tune to get airplay on major radio station, initially being played by the legendary, John Peel on BBC Radio 1. Neckbreaker/Kist, shortly commenced being the first tune on the Graffs series, Neckbreaker made it onto the Aphrodite mix CD released in America. Following this success, Benny was asked to remix the Aphrodite classic, Stalker. To follow were tunes such as Pinball, Tempest and Moneyzone with towering success on the dance floor which lead us to the present.

Benny has a very diverse range of styles and hopes to bring more vibes back to drum n bass, vocals play a big part in his current productions and he plans to work more with vocalists in the future.

The minds behind Theory, [ Torontojungle.com ] and Impure Productions have
come together to present you with Abstract, Toronto's newest Drum &
Bass faction. With heavy focus on relinquishing dark beats upon the city,
Abstract's repertoire is not limited to just that. With each Abstract
event, Toronto will bare witness to something new and different in
Toronto Drum & Bass.

For too long, the darker sounds have been neglected as an economically
viable sub genre in this city. We hope to help change that. Abstract
aims to fill a void by not only showcasing a sound that doesn't fit the
"mainstream" ideal, but by presenting a different perspective on the
artists that do.

Our ultimate goal is to push the dark sound, but our events will be by
no means predictable. Expect lineups that promote everything from dark
international talent relatively unknown in this city, to well known
A-List Toronto favorites given the chance of an extended set, to show
their true depth within this music. Expect events for the older crowd as
well as those aimed at presenting diversity and increasing awareness
amongst the all ages market. Expect a slew of Drum & Bass events motivated
by exposure, education and exploration. Expect something Abstract.

André Williams, London, England. A cult UK-based ragga and jungle producer, Williams established his reputation with his first two singles, "Gangsta Kid" and "Original Nuttah" in 1994. While completing a sound engineering course as a teenager, Williams was given a work experience placement at the influential UK label, Sound Of Underground Records (S.O.U.R.). Clearly, the label recognised the young engineer's talent in the studio and released his debut singles. "Original Nuttah" featured dialogue from the Martin Scorsese gangster movie Goodfellas, crashing breakbeats and the ragga "scatting" of UK Apachi. Like its predecessor, "Original Nuttah' became a ragga jungle anthem and eventually reached the UK Top 40. Williams" relationship with S.O.U.R. ended after he became one of the first jungle artists to record an album, Just An Example. After this release, he parted company with the label and established two of his own in 1996, Ebony and Ivory. His highly successful productions "The Message" and "Bambaata", released in 1996 and 1997 respectively, were further demonstrations of his love of ragga and hip-hop, dynamically fused to form "jump-up" jungle tracks. He also released tracks under the 45 Roller, 5th Amendment, Studio 2 and Studio 4 aliases.

Throughout his career he has worked closely with T-Power, both as "Ebony Dubsters" and "Shy-FX and T-Power"; their 2002 track "Shake Your Body" with vocalist Di was a crossover success, appearing in the Top 40 UK Singles Chart. Shy FX and T Power have achieved far reaching success in the drum and bass field. They've reworked everything from R&B to latin riffs to hip hop beats; these two London based pioneers have studied the old school with distinction and are set to educate the masses. No one can deny that their popularity and success has guaranteed their place in today's musical curriculum.

Artificial Intelligence are the duo responsible for two of the biggest drum & bass club hits last year including "Desperado" and "Uprising" This year their main project is compiling and mixing the second album in the Liquid V Club Sessions series released last year which will include 20 exclusive Liquid V rollers from artists including, Roni Size, Makoto, LTJ Bukum, TC, Stress Level & TC1, Kabuki, Simonn Bassline Smith, Calibre, Total Science, Utah Jazz and remixes from Marky, High Contrast and Logistics.

Liquid V has been building its profile over the last twelve months with monthly nights at Medicine Bar, The End and Egg. There have also been one off nights in Bristol, Birmingham and around the UK and overseas including Vienna, France and Switzerland. Promoters at big events such as Innovation (where Liquid V have hosted their second arena) are already requesting Liquid V nights for their second room to add another dimension of drum & bass to their night.

There’s been a lot said about Liquid drum & bass and one of the misconceptions is that it’s not really for the clubs. Liquid V smashes that myth head on. This is club music, with a little twist from the main but comprising the best of what makes heads and feet move on a dancefloor.

The aim of Liquid V is to work with promoters in the UK and abroad to host a series of Liquid V Club Sessions nights under the banner “The Big Picture Tour “ to promote the release of this album in May 2006. Artificial Intelligence with MC Stamina will be the headline acts along with a choice of DJs and MCs involved in the project available for support. These include D- Bridge, Total Science, Q Project, TC1 & Stress Level, Fabio, Bukem, MC Darrison, MC Lowqui, High Contrast, Utah Jazz, Kabuki, Logistics, TC and DJ Marky

Following on from the huge success of ‘Bingo Sessions Vol. 2’, mixed by Brazilian superstar DJ Marky, Bingo Beats return with Chase & Status slamming the freshest Bingo dubs.

Chase and Status (real names Saul Milton and Will Kennard) really do start as they mean to go on. Since the birth of their drum'n'bass career in 2004, things have been moving extremely rapidly for this duo.

Their first release on Bingo ‘Love's Theme’ became an instant anthem in 2005. They followed that with their remix of Mood II Swing ‘I Got Love’ and have recently taken all the plaudits with their killer ‘Druids EP’. Andy C, Mampi Swift, Friction, Zinc, Pendulum, Fabio and Bad Company have shown huge support for their releases which has only been further affirmed by regular radio airplay.

They have neatly crafted a collection of Bingo anthems past and most definitely future into a seriously heavy mix. Dropping tunes like ‘Creeper’, ‘Steppin Stones’, and the absolutely massive ‘In Love’ by Jenna G interspersed with upfront dubs from Sonic, Zinc and Stakka, make this a must for 2006!
