Dance music has been the biggest part of Rhymes' (otherwise known as Marvin Beaver - and yes, he's heard all of the jokes) life from a young age. Inspired by early hip-hop and electro a la Kraftwerk and Doug E. Fresh, Marvin purchased his first set of decks at 15 and caught the bug in a bad way.

While working for British Airways after leaving school, a chance meeting with a nu-beat-writing co-worker who was selling his equipment to go traveling led to Marvin's first "studio". Supplemented with the now legendary Roland TR808 and TR909 drum machines Beaver started, as most people did in dance music in the late eighties, by putting out a few acid house white labels. Before long the talent was noticed by owners of the seminal Wax Factory imprint, Ron Wells and Chris Simmons, who began to release more of his material. Dave Pearce's Reachin Records also bought into the young producer's skills, fuelling the fire and enabling Beaver to set up a commercial studio with his mate Justin Drake in the early 1990s.

Rhythm Design Studios in Uxbridge became the birthplace of Outsiders, Drake and Beaver's much-lauded project for Junior Boy's Own Chicago influenced Jus Trax label. Friend, DJ and London mainstay Clive Henry then joined the team and the trio became Peace Division, a project that gained props from every corner of dance music without exception.

Leaving Peace Division to focus on his own material, Beaver invented the Dylan Rhymes moniker (a reference to Bob Dylan) and set about working on a breakbeat track for Junior Boys Own. The result was 1996s "Naked & Ashamed" which, due to a Smirnoff ad campaign, became one the label's biggest tracks (no mean feat considering JBO's pedigree). Since then he has cemented his reputation as one of the leaders of the electro, breakbeat and tech house scenes, through his output on Kingsize Records, Meat Katie's Whole9Yards and Lot49 labels and his own Blue Black imprint.

Besides original work, Beaver has also remixed the likes of Deep Dish, Infusion, Dave Gahan, Overseer, Unkle and Puretone while he has collaborated with Meat Katie, Christian J, Force Mass Motion (as Silencer) and Anthony J Gorry (on his 2004 album, Dead Famous).

Dylan Rhymes brand new release titled "STARS" has just been released and is in stores now, on the Lot 49 record label. The much anticipated release includes remixes from JELO, BAOBINGA + I.D, KOMA + BONES and PABLO DECODER. Dylan Rhymes full length artist album is due out on Lot 49 in the coming months!!!

When it comes to having an identifiable yet never predictable or generic sound they don't come much better than Dylan Rhymes, known to his mates as Martin Beaver. A major player in the electro house and breaks scene of today, he has built himself a solid reputation for being a talented and ingenious producer and a fantastic DJ. Across the course of his career he has written and played everything from chunky house to deep, minimal tribal grooves and of course ballsy broken beats and electro house, all with a distinctly techy edge and a genre-crossing attitude. And it's exactly his intention to have such a diverse yet at the same time so readily identifiable sound: "I'm always taking in different influences, but ultimately I want to have a specific sound that people can recognize as my sound". Dylan Rhymes new release titled “STARS” is due out in the coming weeks and will be released on the Lot 49 record label. The much anticipated release includes remixes from JELO, BAOBINGA + I.D, KOMA + BONES and PABLO DECODER. Dylan Rhymes much anticipated full length artist album is due out on Lot 49 in the coming months. Dylan Rhymes is accepting dates in support of his current releases in the North American territories during August and early September. The tour is already slotted to appear at the world famous Burning Man Festival (2 events) and is accepting offers for the week following Burning Man in North America and the week leading up to the festival in August 2008.

Dylan Rhymes Bio

Dance music has been the biggest part of Rhymes’ (otherwise known as Marvin Beaver – and yes, he’s heard all of the jokes) life from a young age. Inspired by early hip hop and electro a la Kraftwerk and Doug E. Fresh, Marvin purchased his first set of decks at 15 and caught the bug in a bad way.

While working for British Airways after leaving school, a chance meeting with a nu-beat-writing co-worker who was selling his equipment to go travelling led to Marvin’s first “studio”. Supplemented with the now legendary Roland TR808 and TR909 drum machines Beaver started, as most people did in dance music in the late eighties, by putting out a few acid house white labels. Before long the talent was noticed by owners of the seminal Wax Factory imprint, Ron Wells and Chris Simmons, who began to release more of his material. Dave Pearce’s Reachin Records also bought into the young producers skills, fuelling the fire and enabling Beaver to set up a commercial studio with his mate Justin Drake in the early 1990s.

Rhythm Design Studios in Uxbridge became the birthplace of Outsiders, Drake and Beaver’s much-lauded project for Junior Boy’s Own Chicago influenced Jus Trax label. Friend, DJ and London mainstay Clive Henry then joined the team and the trio became Peace Division, a project that gained props from every corner of dance music without exception.

Leaving Peace Division to focus on his own material, Beaver invented the Dylan Rhymes moniker (a reference to Bob Dylan) and set about working on a breakbeat track for Junior Boys Own. The result was 1996s “Naked & Ashamed” which, due to a Smirnoff ad campaign, became one the label’s biggest tracks (no mean feat considering JBO’s pedigree). Since then he has cemented his reputation as one of the leaders of the breakbeat and tech house scenes through his output through Kingsize Records, Meat Katie’s Whole9Yards and Lot49 labels and his own Blue Black imprint.

Besides original work, Beaver has also remixed the likes of Deep Dish, Infusion, Dave Gahan, Overseer, Unkle and Puretone while he has collaborated with Meat Katie, Christian J, Force Mass Motion (as Silencer) and Anthony J Gorry (on his 2004 album, Dead Famous).

Japanese Popstars (UK) - North American Dates: August 2008

From their conception, The Japanese Popstars have wasted no time in becoming the BEST thing to come out of Ireland since Guinness. To add to the hype, they have recently been voted "BEST LIVE ACT" at the Irish Dance Music Awards . Their debut album is scheduled for release on Gung Ho Recordings / Ministry Of Sound and due out in May along with a release on the label Delboys Revenge hitting in March. The singles to be taken from the album have attracted support from the likes of Pete Tong, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize, Andrew Weatherall and Darren Emerson. Dylan Rhymes (UK) - Accepting North American dates for June 2008

We have two last second openings in the USA for Dylan Rhymes on March 20-21st, 2008. We are also taking offers on Dylan Rhymes next trip to North America which will be in June 2008. When it comes to having an identifiable yet never predictable or generic sound they don't come much better than Dylan Rhymes, known to his mates as Martin Beaver. A major player in the electro house and breaks scene of today, he has built himself a solid reputation for being a talented and ingenious producer and a fantastic DJ. Across the course of his career he has written and played everything from chunky house to deep, minimal tribal grooves and of course ballsy breakbeat and electro house, all with a distinctly techy edge and a genre-crossing attitude. And it's exactly his intention to have such a diverse yet at the same time so readily identifiable sound: "I'm always taking in different influences, but ultimately I want to have a specific sound that people can recognise as my sound".

Born Jean Benoit, DJ Bind fell in love with electronic music and rave cultures the same way many other Canadians have – during the height of the Toronto Rave community in the early nineties. It was three years later he would begin his own DJ career, striving to recreate the vibe and intensity which had inspired him on the dance floor.

As co-host of “A Voice From the Underground” on 102.3 FM, Montreal, he brought the best of the best to the audiences of this well-known commercial radio station. A Voice From the Underground remains the longest running electronic music radio show within the city of Montreal to this day. He now hosts his weekly show “The Hunter Gatherer Show” Every Wednesday on Techno.FM from Montreal.

The success of his radio show, combined with his impeccable DJ skills opened the doors to perform in nightclubs, bars and raves in the notorious Montreal nightlife, as well as his own personal favourite house and loft parties.

NEXUS ARTIST MANAGEMENT LANDS MUSIC PARTNERSHIP ON “XM SATELLITE RADIO”

Burlington, Vermont based company Nexus Artist Management will begin a sole music partnership for a monthly regular broadcast on XM Satellite Radio’s show “ThumpFunk.” Nexus Artists is owned and operated by Chris Pattison and Justin Remillard, residents of Burlington, Vermont. The duo started the company 5 years ago while meeting up at their alma mater of Champlain College; Pattison a graphic design major and Remillard majoring in public relations and business.

Nexus Artist Management was developed with a double-barrel approach, loaded with both cutting edge design concepts and a boutique booking agency for electronic dance music. Satellite radio is considered to be the next generation of how North America experiences broadcast music. In 2002 Thump Radio created a radio show to celebrate the many genres of breakbeat music and highlight the biggest DJ’s in the business. Thumpfunk has been broadcasting on XM Radio across the USA, Canada, and parts of Mexico, reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners. Along with resident DJ’s Simply Jeff, Kepi, Fiddler, DJ Icon, Aaron Jae, and newly added music partners: Nexus Artist Management, ThumpFunk continues to feature some of the biggest names in breaks: Elite Force, Tayo, Hybrid, DJ Icey, DJ Hyper, Uberzone, The Crystal Method, Freq Nasty and more.

Nexus Artists have globally supported the electronic music industry in many fashions over the past five years. They provide Flash web design and print media design for today’s movers and shakers in the music industry and beyond. In addition to the graphic design element, the duo has a roster of world-class producers and DJ’s that tour year-round. Nexus Artists have been featured in magazines such as Urb, Mix-Mag, BPM, Knowledge (UK), and Rinse (Canada). Their producers music have been featured on TV shows such as “CSI: New York”, ”MTV’s “Exposed”, Showtime’s “Huff” and on the Big Screen, “The Matrix”. Various music releases from artists on the Nexus roster can be purchased at most music stores, such as Boarders, FYE, and select record shops around the country. Nexus was one of the first promotion groups in the United States to organize and host events for some of the top Breakbeat producers and DJ’s from around the globe. They were the first agency in the US to showcase and tour such UK acts as ED 209, Cut n’ Run, Control-Z, and Screwface. On the first Monday of each month, DJ Fiddler welcomes Nexus Artists to the ThumpFunk decks. It's “The Next Wave In Breaks” Mondays 12–2pm PST and 3-5pm EST. ThumpFunk can only be heard on XM Satellite Radio’s Channel 80, “The Move.”
