the minority govt will dissolve only if the liberals lose the confidence of the house... and thats only if the Alliance stops being the liberals' back-door bitch... and the bloc has to disagree with them.. and the NDP....
they can stay in power if only the NDP votes with them since they technically dont lose the confidence of the house of commons since they have exactly 50% of the seats with the NDP

huh?
his name was Ioannes Paulus Primo
Ioannes (John) because of Pope John XXIII, two popes before him
and Paulus (Paul) because of Pope Paul VI, the pope just before him

He took both their names because he agreed with both of their approaches to the papal position.. even though they differed greatly

haha
John Paul the First actually named himself "the First"... usually history names popes "the First" and whatnot because there's another pope with the same name after him... it's a pretty big assumption to name YOURSELF "the First"

Indian city uses drummers in campaign to punish and coerce tax evaders

Friday, April 01, 2005

HYDERABAD, India (AP) - Tax authorities in southern India have found a new way to handle tax evaders: sending teams of traditional drummers to noisily pound away outside their homes or shops until they pay up.

Tax officials in Andhra Pradesh state's Rajahmundry city said Thursday they had recovered three-fourths of the 50 million rupees, the equivalent of about $1.2 million US, owed by people there after sending drummers to the doors of tax cheats. The sense of shame evoked by the racket was enough to make most people come out and pay, said T.S.R. Anjenayalu, a Rajahmundry administrative official.

"The drive has been such a great success that we have had several inquiries from other cities and towns about it," Anjenayalu said.

This year's tax collection in Rajahmundry has hit an all-time high, with nearly 95 per cent collected, he said.

Rajahmundry, with 450,000, people, is about 500 kilometres east of the state capital, Hyderabad.

The city has hired 10 drummers for the collection drive.

Jesus, I am overjoyed to meet you face to face.
You've been getting quite a name all around the place.
Healing cripples, raising from the dead.
And now I understand you're God,
At least, that's what you've said.
So, you are the Christ, you're the great Jesus Christ.
Prove to me that you're divine; change my water into wine.
That's all you need do, then I'll know it's all true.
Come on, King of the Jews.
Jesus, you just won't believe the hit you've made around here.
You are all we talk about, the wonder of the year.
Oh what a pity if it's all a lie.
Still, I'm sure that you can rock the cynics if you tried.
So, you are the Christ, you're the great Jesus Christ.
Prove to me that you're no fool; walk across my swimming pool.
If you do that for me, then I'll let you go free.
Come on, King of the Jews.
I only ask what I'd ask any superstar.
What is it that you have got that puts you where you are.
I am waiting, yes I'm a captive fan.
I'm dying to be shown that you are not just any man.
So, if you are the Christ, yes the great Jesus Christ
Feed my household with this bread.
You can do it on your head.
Or has something gone wrong. Jesus, why do you take so long?
Oh come on, King of the Jews.
Hey! Aren't you scared of me Christ?
Mr. Wonderful Christ?
You're a joke. You're not the Lord.
You are nothing but a fraud.
Take him away.
He's got nothing to say!
Get out you King of the,
Get out King of the,
Oh get out you King of the Jews!
Get out of here!
Get out of here you,
Get out of my life.

why is everyone stupid?
religion wasnt INVENTED... the lightbulb was invented.

also, this:
I dont believe that christians should support gay marrige.
Christian Marrige is about reproducing and since gays can't do that why allow it?

Many other religions support gay marrige, why do they need the christians along there with all the others?

Im not against gays, or them being allowed to get married but fuck, what next? they'll be asking for their own olympics?

was an excellent comment.
it's true. CHRISTIAN marriage is about reproducing. Why should Christianity allow people who can't do that to get a religious marriage. There's a difference you know. My brother is married by law, but not religiously. Religion does NOT need to support gay marriage. That's the problem of the state. Religion and Government are two separate entities. I can't understand why people always get them mixed up. You're all idiots.

Also, why is it ok for regular non-religious people to be fucking morons, but as soon as someone with any type of "religious" ideals to act dumb, ALL religion is completely horrible. In the middle ages, everyone was a dumbass! Not just christians.

schools in canada taught evolution since the 70s

VOICE OF JUDAS

Every time I look at you I don't understand
Why you let the things you did get so out of hand.
You'd have managed better if you'd had it planned.
Why'd you choose such a backward time in such a strange land?
If you'd come today you could have reached a whole nation.
Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication.
Don't you get me wrong.
I only want to know.

CHOIR

Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ,
Who are you? What have you sacrificed?
Jesus Christ Superstar,
Do you think you're what they say you are?

VOICE OF JUDAS

Tell me what you think about your friends at the top.
Who'd you think besides yourself's the pick of the crop?
Buddha, was he where it's at? Is he where you are?
Could Mohammed move a mountain, or was that just PR?
Did you mean to die like that? Was that a mistake, or
Did you know your messy death would be a record breaker?
Don't you get me wrong.
I only want to know.

CHOIR

Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ,
Who are you? What have you sacrificed?
Jesus Christ Superstar,
Do you think you're what they say you are?
(Repeat many times)
