I hope that it is. I sure hope they can't just browse Facebook like they were you or something. But I have this puzzling story...

A friend of mine, let's call him Christian, was recently arrested by the police on the charge of simle possession (a few speeds) after they asked him if they could search him all of a sudden and he said yes. They were just at the corner from his workplace, and when he went out for his break, they adressed him by his name and immediately asked if they could search him. His answer should obviously have been ''no'', but he told me the intervention was so surprising, sudden and unexpected that he answered ''yes''.

Anyway, the puzzling part is this: after they found drugs on him, they put him in the back of the car and started asking questions about drug dealers, pointing out that they knew he was a DJ and that he saw ''a lot of stuff''. They even mentioned that they knew that he played the Circus recently and that they were looking at drug dealing in the techno scene nowadays. Christian is not sure who mentioned the Circus first, but he's pretty sure it's them.

They offered to give him an informant number so he could turn dealers in anonymously against money and also to forget the simple possession charge if he cooperated. He chose not to. Good or bad decision, I don't know. But they left him a phone number as well as what I assume to be their badge numbers in case he wanted to contact them to become an informant.

My question is: how did they know where to wait for him (workplace) and his full name if they couldn't somehow have full access to Facebook?

I'm wondering if they didn't start some operation to arrest drug dealers and decided to intercept people close to the scene with criminal cases. Christian has a criminal case.

If they had linked his name with his DJ name beforehand and started an operation to get info on drug dealing in the scene, that would explain why they targeted him precisely.

But how could they know where he works if they didn't have access to his complete profile?

I'm pretty sure they don't have enough resources to devote to following every raver with a criminal case around until they find out about their habits. It's not Omerta. So I'm left wondering how did they wrap it all together in order to make such an intervention if they can't watch Facebook.

If they can, it's easy because his name, workplace and DJ name are on his profile. But his profile is as hidden as it can be.

So....

Any of you can think of another explanation for this?

Well, after-hours are another story. These places are probably under surveillance because with their ties with organized crime and the selling of drugs inside, this is no secret.

[ rave.ca ] is a website about raves discussion and events but in no way is linked directly to organized crime. Variant here. Usually when the police come in raves is because they had complaints about noise from the neighbors. Sometime they check if everything is safe inside and leave. Its not like they show up at EVERY events that is posted here.

Never say "yes" for a search except if they have warrant with your name on it. If they try to force/convince you (for whatever), ask for their badge numbers and say you'll fill a complaint here: [ www.deontologie-policiere.gouv.qc.ca ]

This usually calm them down.

Story of mine, A guy that I know was cut with 70 000$ of drugs in his car but the charges were drop because the police didn't follow the proper procedures. Ha!

Police need an order of the court to investigate/spy on website or people. For this they need solid proof. Ask your local police station, they'll tell you. In Canada you can legally post events like raves in public media.

I think those rumors are just paranoia

Welcome back!

Most raves today play mostly psytrance and dubstep, HHC and hard trance parties are out of game, there's maybe 1 per year.

The vibe is different but still peaceful and open minded, lot of hippies but it's ok. Most entry price is between 0 and 15$.

Promoters still post parties on rave,ca but the most updated info is on Facebook (like the location), so make sure you check both.

However, I think that if you are at the center of every conflict and that they are only in conflict with you, it means that even though you are an original raver of this city and have been fueling its thriving electronic scene (rivaling Berlin) with your skills and positivity, it seems that somewhere along the way you turned into the person pouring the most lame drama on internet that I've ever seen. Or maybe you get Masa, Basdini and AlexF to pour it for you. It's all the same. I think you will never quit it but why can't you just play nice in every sense of the term? The Internet is full of your bullshit, man, I lost three hours checking your bullshit on dnbmtl and here. I don't know why or how can manage to keep this up. Maybe you just troll for fun and have a lot of it, but why can't you just be nice? Since you happen to play the music with the greatest vibe, I don't get the part where your ego is bigger than Jesus and your mouth is running like the Energizer bunny of crap.

You were an original raver here, well congrats, but the world is still ruled by a ruthless merchant aristocracy, more that 65% of the population does not eat enough, crazy dictators are manufacturing atomic bombs and every sign is there that environmental catastrophe is right ahead. So maybe you could do something about that and then I'll tell everyone you're a fucking hero. Maybe I can be your sidekick, being there since 1996 only. You'll be Batman and I'll be Robin.

Or do nothing about that and keep the music pumping but just remove the douchebag skin that hides that marvelous PLUR heart of yours because I looked around and I can't see it.

Impressive and accurate. Wow...

It's true Bliss, your acting like a fucking virus and you're the center of gravity of this drama shit storm. Think about it, NO ONE IS SUPPORTING YOU. (Exept your proxy accounts that your behind)

I don't understand your motivation or goal, what it will give you in the end?

Is this constructive for the scene or your dj career? Do you think all this give you good reputation?

As a pioneer of the scene, a legendary super dj, do you think it's correct to act like that?

I'm serious, explain...(And not like a dumbass please)
