Dubstep Experiment Farewell Party.

That's right, Sase One & Jack, two of Montreal's biggest dubstep DJs, are leaving town, so this is your final chance to catch these heavy-weights rocking the sub-lows!!

And while it's a "finale" for the Dubstep Experiment, we're also proud to present a fresh new talent on the local scene, Mad Eskimo. The man's sound has a touch of Flying Lotus, and at the same time, his music is unique, with hints of his Inuit heritage layered throughout his heavy beats and bass.

This will also be the first time since Mutek to hear Komodo perform a dubstep set in Montreal. Since his CD launch in May 2008, Komodo has been working on plenty of new tracks for performing live with his Australian didgeridoos, Turkish flutes and North African percussion.

And to round out the line-up, DJ Hosta will be on hand to open our ears to the latest vinyl releases from the best of the international producers.

But that's not all! We've added eight extra subs to the SAT's already heavy sound system to get that extra chest-boxing action, and we'll also be joined by three of Montreal's most original VJs: Matt Williston, TIND, and Pink Rubber Lady.

It's all going down next Tuesday May 20th at the SAT. Live musicians, dancers, and my man Matt Williston on the VJ tip. As Matty likes to say, "it's gonna be hot" :-) Souvenirs d'Indochine will be providing their customary Vietnamese delicacies (that alone is reason enough to rep!) and it's free. Doors open at 6pm, show starts early and will be short and sweet so... Don't sleep on this one!

C'est avec grand plaisir que je vous annonce la sortie de mon premier album !!!

Le lancement aura lieu le mardi 20 mai à la Société des arts technologiques (SAT). Comme il en avait dans les soirées de Meet Me at the Gates et dans les soirées Full Subluna, il y aura des projections en direct, de la danse, des musiciens invités, et bien sûr moi-même derrière les platines avec mes didjeridous et autres instruments de musique. At long last I am releasing my debut album!!!

To celebrate, I'm throwing a release party on Tuesday May 20th at the Society of Arts and Technology (SAT). As in the days of the "Meet Me at the Gates" and "Full Subluna" parties, there will be live video, dancers, guest musicians, and of course myself behind the cd decks with my didgeridoos and other instruments. For those of you who know me from my more recent Komodo Dubs nights, not only will the bass be warm and heavy like the approaching summer nights, you will get a chance to hear some of the other kinds of bass music I've been producing over the years. And as if that wasn't already a party, my good friends from Souvenirs d'Indochine will be on hand with their inimitable Vietnamese delicacies!

The plug is now fully pulled on this particular Komodo Dubs night. Differences with the venue owner. Very nice people, but not on the same page, it turns out. Sorry for the double false start here, looks like the 24th was just never meant to be.
