by the way...futurepop and EBM are a sub-genre of [ Trance...ca ] it use trance/ dark trance melodies, with a hard kick...and with lyrics...we could then say it's a hard trance subgenre...

in fact many EBM-FUTUREPOP bands take their influences in major Trance dj or bands, like astral projection, infected mushroom, push, nostrum...

yes it may not be Psy-trance like you say...

but this is a GOA / TRANCE forum... so as EBM-FUTUREPOP is a sub genre of trance...so why it cannot fit here ? please explain it ?

ebm is a word created by the 80's band

FRONT 242 it stand for electronic body music.

it was born from a movement wich KRAFTWERK and TEH ORB started in the late 70's beggining of the 80's...the true beginning of electronic music..

the 80's EBM scene was a counter culture isued from the Punk of the 70's with lyrics of revolt and socialist propaganda. It used dark atmospheric sound that connect to the sound of machine, in a new world of industrialisation and capitalism...where human where confronting the machine they created : the computer and robot...so we could say it was also a period that saw the beggining of the cyberpunk ideology...with movies like Bladerunner...

the 80's EBM scene saw bands like Nitzer Ebb, Meat beat manifesto, front line assembly, skinny puppy, d.a.f...

but...in the same time the punk scene give birth the a new scene wich we could called the goth ...

but i remember in the late 80's everyone who was let say marginal and and where dark or black clothes called themselves ALTERN...but altern became associated to the Grunge movement of the 90's..wich in fact as nothing to do...with the ALTERN of the 80's who became known as the goth in the 90's...

still...

in the 90's with grunge and goth-rock...this was a time where humanity questioned himself on the past...and on the future....so the industrial scene was nearly dead in this period..there was so much production of industrial-ebm music in the 90's like it was in the 80's....rather the gothic-rock (no elements of electronic music) saw a new popularity...with vampire live action roleplay...horror movies...etc... cause history repeat itself...so what happen the 1890...it was the victorian age...with H.P. Lovecraft...the romantic period...so we could easily say...the 1890's was the goth period of the 19th century...so in the 1990's it was the goth period the 20th century...it was a period wich i could say was even darker and depressed that was the Punk [ period....ca ] at least Punk at a motive..behind their revolution..they wanted the society to change...the expressed their revolution with their rage and violence in their music....but the goth....go deeper into decadence and depression..the goth scene is more a scene of self mutilation...where the human know he live in a society where there is no future...so he complain...and cry about...going down into is darkside...and complying to it... and became decadent (example: Marilyn Manson)... so this is where suicide...vampire...depress personalities...was linked to the goth-rock scene...

beside this...there was an opposite movement who started to rise...THE RAVE scene..it began somewhere in 1991-1992...in our province...it was the golden age of the electronic music...with liberation ideas...we could linked the Rave scene to a new HIPPIES scene...where psychotrop is used to transcend reality...and electronic music to help you in this... the scene became more and more popular...and more and more bands started to use elements of electronic (techno) in their creation...we saw the popularity of Acid, Trance...in the begging of the 90's...and now ...Hardcore, Gabber...and many other style...

but...in the late 90's...as the Techno scene gain more popularity...so some band of goth-rock...and some goth people discovered the techno sounds...and mentality...and they where tired of the fucking stupid and moron depressions and ideas of the goth scene...so they ressurected the EBM word...and created a new sound...mixing elements of hard trance, hard tek, industrial and even Acid to it...with dark atmosphere and melodies...but the lyrics are realy more revolutionary and boost you to change your life and to do someting with it even if our world is going to self destruction and it is corrupted by capitalism and individualism...

you just have to read the lyrics of VNV NATION (one of the major, ebm and futurepop band of today)...one of their moto is MAKE YOUR FUTUREPERFECT...we could say also: KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS AND YOU WILL DO SOMETHING OF YOUR LIFE !! AND IF EVERYONE DO THIS THEN WE MIGHT HAVE A BETTER TOMOROW"....

so...NO EBM IS NOT GOTH !!! DO YOU EAR ME !!

people who listen to EBM might still wear dark or black clothes...but we do add elements of rave clothes also...and it look more like a CYBERPUNK movement.....not more goth...

cause NO !!! ebm fan are NOT depress people...we are fucking happy...and realy want to live ! and there is still hope in the world wich is in is auto destruction as long as we all kick our ass and do something of our life !!!

goth...will not to do this...they will cry...want to comit suicide...become decadent...wich is NOT the case and not the lyric and philosophy express in the music and lyrics of EBM and FUTUREPOP...

and juste listen to some RYTHMIC NOISE"..and tell me if you want to suicide yourself when you ear this...personaly when i listen to rythmic noise i feel so alive and so happy and i have a boost of energy ! i feel i could do anything...

well if some people is complying because there is no cover before midnight....let's say you wont find any event or bar....with no cover before midnight.....this is because the production team as manage to do a deal with the manager of the bar...in order to provide a good and accessible night to montreal scene.....wich normaly always comply because cover are to expensive for event.....and well been a long time without a regular techno evening on a saturday night....and even more without cover.....and still !!! people are again complying and making bad critic !!!!

voici mes commentaires....

SCREAM était pour être le meilleur rave et le meilleur line up que j'ai jamais vu en 10 ans de Rave...

à la dernière minute la salle à changée.. (selon les rumeurs ça devait être au Forum Pepsi...c'Est ce qu'Astral Projection avaient marqué sur leur site) est-ce que cela fut une bonne idée ??? reste à savoir...

La salle était écoeurante !!! les éclairages complétements débile !!! la musique était en s'en arracher la face et se peter la tête sur les murs et avoir un orgasme musical le plus intense du siècle ! bref.... TOUT les éléments était parfait..........

MAIS !!!!!!!!! oui il y a un gros gros MAIS !!!

voici les erreurs ultimes:

AU grand jamais la salle Trance aurait du être en bas... car

1- Cétais, à vu d'oeil, la plus petite salle de la soirée (ou presque si on la compare à la salle Drum and bass)....Mais cétais la salle ou à jouer ASTRAL PROJECTON !!!!!!! pis en plus... elle étais devant la porte d'entrée !!! donc morale de l'histoire... à 1 am il y avais déja une tonne de monde qu'on pouvais même pu danser...en plus vu que le monde entrait ben il essayait de se frayer un chemin dans cette masse de monde...donc on se fonçait dedans...morale de l'histoire quand tu est dans ta bulle entrain de monter au 7e ciel et que tu te fait foncer dedans ben tu as le gout de casser la gueule à tout le monde autour de toi !!! alors...au lieu de faire ça...j'ai décidé de manquer Astral Projection......le groupe pour lequel j'allais à ce rave...en me disant que de toute façons THE HORRORIST étais censé jouer en même temps en haut au 2e étage dans l'immense salle !!! donc j'ai essayé de monter....ça prit 40 minutes !!! résultat je suis arrivé en haut et le show de THE HORRORIST était terminé.........donc morale de l'histoire........j'ai manqué les deux groupes pour lesquels j'allait à SCREAM !!!!!!!

donc mon idée aurait été que vous auriez du mettre la salle trance et la salle hardcore en haut au 2e étage et la salle drum and bass (qui est resté pratiquement vide toute la soirée) en bas à [ m ] ça il y aurait pas eu une congestion de monde en bas...et des problèmes dans les escaliers......c dur de se retenir de pas pisser quand tu as bu 2 litres d'Eau pour pas mourir de désydratation....et que ça te prend 40 minutes aller au toilettes ! car elles étaient seulement au 2e étage....

non sérieux.......vraiment mais alors vraiment déçut par le fait que la salle trance et hardcore nétais pas en haut...

ça aurait permis à tous le monde de pouvoir se promoner entre le show d'Astral Projection et de The horrorist... vu que déja l'idée que les deux jouent en meme temps était pas cool non plus...

bref...

et pour terminer...vu qu'on pouvais pas entrer avdc nos sac...il as fallut que jaille mettre mon costume et puis que je revienne reporter mes pantalons au vestiaire....

mais quand je suis reparti......mes pantalons n'étaient plus dans mon sac !!!!!!

donc...j'ai perdu mes clefs de ma job qui coute...30 $ chaque....

donc au bout du compte ce party ma couter autour de 100 $ pis j'ai même pas vu Astral Projection et The horrorist....et j'ai passé le rave à vouloir assasiner du monde vu qu'on se faisait bousculer parce qu'il y avais TROP vous entendez TROP de monde !!

c'Est beau vouloir faire du cash les gars !! mais quand même quand c'Est rendut que ça brise l'atmosphère...et la joie de ceux qui ont eux l'idée d'Acheter leur billet à l'avance !!!

vous auriez du laisser entrer le monde qui avait leur billet en premier !!!!

pis si il restait encore de la place dans votre capacité LIMITE ben vous auriez pu laisser entrer du monde qui avait pas leur billet...

bref...
