I used to record myself alot just trying all sorts of fucked up stuff then I'd listen to the play back taking note of what worked, what didnt and what to improve on in the future... always asking questions.. if it sounded good ..why? .. if not... why? ..what should i try next? etc.. ultimately it builds an arsenal of origional and/or innovative tricks and techniques that will set you apart from the rest. another thing that greatly improved my mixing was mixing different styles of techno..in the past ive mixed everything from tech/hardtech to jungle/ragga/breaks/dnb to hhc/freeform you name it..(use cds/mp3's borrow records if ya hafta, its not like youre going to play out with any of this) I learned something technically and stylistically every step of the way that I now apply to my chosen style. ..another great learning technique is just simply watching the pros or someone you admire do it.. dont be shy ask them if you can stand behind them and watch for a while.. theyll usually say yes if youre respectful and polite about it.. sometimes its less about technique and more about stage presence, play it from all angles .. keep your eyes on the ball, your ear to the ground and dont give up ..good luck -K

you can use peak but it requires a crack ..personally the crack version i had used to crash all the time.. so i used sound studio instead..its a freeware you can find on versiontracker.. it did the job for what i needed.

I used cubase for a year or so and since I started using ableton to produce I find cubase complicated for nothing...my sound quality is much better and the it takes much less time to achieve the desired and much more dynamic result, personally i dont think ill never go back. and as an added bonus...it is cheaper to buy than cubase. then again it all comes down to what youre more comfortable with.. id say try a cracked version before buying it..but i dont know if they managed to write a dongle crack for mac yet.. ..btw i have an origional version of sx2 with dongle for sale..if youre interested pm me

I had the unfortunate experience of wasting some money on these...it took about 20 minutes to kick in, I hit a dizzy/drowsy peak for about 10 minutes ...just long enough to walk home and fall soundly asleep...I thought it was a bit strange...now I know why...what bullshit ...thanks mmario

Hell yeah! ALL invites are tracked. The tracking is a kinda "family tree". It means that when you invite someone, they appear in your details as an invitee, and you appear in their details as an inviter.
If someone you invited acts bad on the tracker, not only he but also you will be blamed. You can get kicked from the tracker if someone you invited gets kicked!

neat track, i dont really know the genre well..but it would seen that the percussion samples might be missing a bit of weight and frequencies during some of the busier parts seem to be a little jingle jangle...im sure with a bit special attention it could be a stomper. try using a paz analyzer from the waves shell coupled with a hp/lp filter on each channel to ensure all frequencies are nice and seperate, it will make it all much crisper... there also seems to be a strange phasing/panning on the percussions that just wouldnt come across well on big sound I dont think..what sequencer do you use? -K

my record is 3 lamp posts in a row, just walking down the street at night. but just one like that happens often... i have no clue what triggers it, i never see it happen from across the street or up ahead a few blocks..its always when im within 10-15 feet of the post.
