Since 1994 Rickie has been Producing Full scale events traveling all over Canada playing parties and Clubs.


In 1994 Rickie started producing Raves as well as Dj clubs, noticing that you can't get anywhere in Winnipeg as a Dj moved to Toronto and found a few clubs to spin tracks at.


Around 97 he was opening for Destiny Productions and doing music reviews for Klublife.


Calgary: -Ionosphere- Jungle and tech house. This became the stepping stone to yet another city.


Vancouver: A vary small city for underground music but a good vibe and the best people to party and play music with, Thump at club UFO right next to Sonar in gas town. Ufo is the next venue that Rickie Orion held a weekly event at. After meeting the local Djs Rickie was invited to join Mind body soul and shortly after that move was playing at the all the outdoor event in the summer. A shot while after Rickie was asked to promote for G-House productions and Summer solstice.


Rickie moved Nelson BC. and weekly would put something together for the small town of Nelson it was nothing but pure cleansing of the soul and mind bringing the real values of life to the surface. After becoming a bit home sick this well seasoned dj moved back to Winnipeg.


1998 Rickie Orion (dj Ion) moved back to Toronto and was well known in the club industry where he gained employment with many after hours and full scale super clubs, now able to work around the clock it was time to really start making a name for himself. Metro Productions, Nation , and Wired for sound all had Rickie on payroll doing a number of things form promoting to djing, Rickie could be found playing at most of the clubs in Toronto and did not waste any time to find another chance to relocate and in 1999 found the next open door.


Detroit, Windsor, Ont. Ritchie Hawtin that's what brought him to this small but hardcore town and after playing at underground after-hours and every club in Windsor Rickie moved to Detroit to play international super club Motor lounge , One X , and was the original dj that open and held residence at The Workx after hours. (Detroit’s #1 after hours). Playing at Motor ever week along with doing the sound & lights for every major dj/producer in the world that would come to Motor proved to be the right move, Now Rickie Was in a key position to speak and observe the Worlds top dj producers. After a few years (4) in Detroit Rickie Orion felt if was time for yet another move, MONTREAL, This big bad city is the home to some of the best clubs and after-hours that the world has seen, Rickie Orion gained residences at Stereo ,backtrack, parking, dome, peel pub along with that came internet stations to stream live internet.


Rickie has built quite a name with the hard progressive sound that is unlike any talent that you may find in Canada or the USA .This young advancing dj is getting booked at major parties all over the States and Canada at clubs and festivals for charities building his name,


Rickie Orion has not turned down a chance to play and takes pride in saying that he will play anytime any place with anyone! Rickie has been billed w/ Dave Ralph, John Acquaviva, Charles Feelgood, Mistress Barbra, The Stickmen, Green Velvet, Kenny ken, Echo, dj Assault, Dominic G, Delirious, Czech, Ruckus, Grant Plant, Dr Trance, Devine, Mike Clark, and many others, least to say that


Rickie is quite a strong force in the Canadian Dj culture and it's well known that anytime you see Rickie Orion on a flyer, it's going to be a night to remember.. "Produce tracks that will elevate you to the next level, you know that anyone can put two records together and say I'm a dj....it really comes down to this....Make your own tracks and play them... you will get the respect that you have been waiting for " says the man with the gold finger .The style that Rickie lays out in the mix is funky, hard tribal tech house over 3 turntables, this in turn gives a hard sound to replicate.


Over and over this 12 year pro has put the people under the Ion spell...... Now Living in Detroit Rickie has started to put music and production together with some local talent that Detroit and Windsor has in the club district.
