| Info: | This week...its our pleasure to have one of our favorite DJs grace our booth... Fraser Manning... From the moment Fraser bought his first-ever cassette tape ("Raising Hell" by Run-D.M.C.), his passion for music was ignited. The first time he dropped the needle on a record, however, it was the birth of something much bigger: a career. Always having an ear for music, being a DJ came very naturally to him, and he was finally able to harness the musical prowess he knew was inside him. Drawing his musical influences from almost every conceivable genre of music, Fraser is able to relate to his audiences both musically and culturally. This is not something he does for money or fame. For Fraser, it's all about the people. "There's no greater feeling than being the sole motivation behind an entire room of people having fun & dancing to your music." As a recent graduate of the Acadia University School of Business, Fraser spent four years studying in Nova Scotia. Taking up the main residency at Acadia University's Axe Lounge, Fraser was given a long-term lesson in diversity. The knowledge that he gained from that position is something that puts him at an advantage in the industry, and it is undoubtedly the reason why he has an inherent ability to work a crowd. His career took a small step forward, playing several shows in the city of Halifax, but it was his move to Ottawa that too him to a new level. Slowly gaining recognition in the Nation's Capital, Fraser became a mainstay at Surface Nightclub & Afterhours, due to both his musical abilities and his position within the nightclub staff. He has now played alongside many of the biggest local names in the house music scene, and was recently afforded the opportunity to play alongside Martin Villeneuve. Now that his grasp on the Ottawa scene is tightening, Fraser is setting his sights on the rest of the country. Montreal & Toronto are tops on the list, as is Edmonton, Fraser's birthplace.
