Yes, I've been lazy...don't remind me. This week I couldn't avoid it, there's simply too many dope records. Read 'em and weep:

[DRUM & BASS]

Pendulum - Back 2 You/Still Grey on Timeless.
Now you've all heard this anthem getting dropped left right and center in online mixes and at blue dog...but what you may not have heard is they insanely awesome 'Still Grey', a moody deep vocal tune that takes over the soul of all who listen to it. Make no mistake, this IS the record of the week, with both sides mudering wherever they get dropped.

Black Sun Empire - Driving Insane LP on BSE.
Ok maybe there's two records of the week. Although this one actually contains 4 twelves and comes in at a whopping 52 bucks....let's face it: these guys are the new face of hard-as-fuck d&b. With every single track threatening to rip you a new asshole, it's hard to find something I don't like on this LP. Big props to the Netherland crew for maintaing the funk while getting dark and dirty.

DJ Marky & XRS - Moments Of Lust/Highlights on Innerground.
Excellent sophmore release from the brizillian masters. As a sampler for their forthcoming LP, Marky & XRS commission help from Vikter Duplaix, who drops vocal 'radio style' on the a-side. While this tune does have a bit of that cheese factor, you've got to give it to these guys for bringing in new heads to the jungle scene by making it for the masses.

Blue Skin feat. MC Fats - Something's Going On/Working 4 Tomorrow on Blue Skin.
Once again trying that 'singing thing', MC Fats grabs the mic and lays it down smooth. Stricly for the luquid funk massive...Special K & D'Cruze come with one of their finest basslines to date.

Total Science - Pop Psychology (D.Kay RMX)/Make Me Feel (Friction RMX) on CIA LTD.
I can't even decide which side is better, but I think I'm leaning towards the 'Make Me Feel' RMX simply because of that classic status the tune has already achieved. Both sides keep the original TS vibe alive while tastefully adding some very heavy basslines of their own design. Nice.

Matrix & Danny J - Vertigo on Metro.
This record would probably be the record of the week if it weren't for the progressive house remix on the flip. Yes indeed, Matrix has turned to the dark side, using his Goldtrix moniker, remixing his entrancing 'Vertigo' into a thumpin' bumpin' circuit party track. But don't worry, the original is not damaged by this, and will still bring tears to your eyes while waiving your hands in the air, doing that 'spirit fingers' thing.

Various - Heavy Load EP 2/2 on Cargo.
You know you liked part 1 with the awesome Hit 'n Run. Now get ready for it, Stakka & K.Tee's 'Echo Chamber' gets the remix treatment by none other then the US' Kaos, Karl K & Jae Kennedy. You'll be hearing this one for some time now. By the way, best b-side of the week goes to this puppy right here: Stakka & Hochi's 'Mars Attacks'.

Chikinki - Like It Or Leave It RMXS on Island.
We got this one in for the die-hard Lemon D fans. Lemon remixes this radio tune into a nice little thumper, very reminiscent of Dillinja's remix of Basement Jaxx's 'Lucky Star'.

KC - Extreme Steel EP on Human.
Metal 'n Bass alert! Dieselboy grabs unknown producer KC for a strictly hardcore record. Now I don't exactly know my metal but I'm pretty sure 'Archangel' samples another Slayer tuen again....to dazzling effect. 'Deströyer' follows on the same tip, but this time slows down the riff and gently brings it back up to speed, until the drop...at which point all hell breaks loose and it turns into a Megadeth concert. Rock on!

Ice Minus - Clones/Seven Months on Tech Itch.
They're baaaaaaaack.

HoldTight - Be Strong/Girl Next Door on Renegade.
Ok I'm tired of writing.........now.

Red Bull here I Come!
