| i have 2 backups servers... i find that better then raid... as we know from XVI and their problems a RAID isn't always a good solution... |

| I always have a backup which is no more then 3 days old ever... Hopefully no files in the backup are bad though but that's why we have the monthly ones so if anything hopefully you can save as much as possible...

| depends on the importance/classification of the data in question :
Raid setups are used usually for regular data, with weekly/biweekly incremental backups and monthly major backup, all depending.
Mission critical backups are often done as 6 incremental and one major backup per week. It always depends on the policy.
Course, only people that don't give a shit keep the tapes at the same location as the equipment. |
