Dude, Why didn't you RAID this mobo ? 2 hard disks on mirroring is all it takes to have SOMe kind of catastrophic failure protection.

i have 2 backups servers... i find that better then raid... as we know from XVI and their problems a RAID isn't always a good solution...

I always have a backup which is no more then 3 days old ever... Hopefully no files in the backup are bad though but that's why we have the monthly ones so if anything hopefully you can save as much as possible...

- Daily backups
- Weekly backups
- Monthly backups

depends on the importance/classification of the data in question :

Raid setups are used usually for regular data, with weekly/biweekly incremental backups and monthly major backup, all depending.

Mission critical backups are often done as 6 incremental and one major backup per week. It always depends on the policy.

Course, only people that don't give a shit keep the tapes at the same location as the equipment.

It's also kinda fun... I never had to do this before... I'm glad it's not a huge desaster... I will learn from the process and in the future if anything more serious happens I will know how to fix it faster...

All posts after 11pm today MIGHT not be saved... I will try to get a backup of a newer database before a new HD gets placed... Ravewave will be the first site back up don't worry ;)... People who pay to have their site up will be first priority...
