Total control is perfect if you don't need more than 1 cue per channel and a limited number of effects. I personally use one now and prefer it to the S4 because it is more compact to carry and I am not as scared of getting it jesse savaged.

my god, trying to sell this stuff on kijiji and craigslist has been a total nightmere...
"hello? Yea I still have the D2 Director, when would you like to meet? YES, you would need to plug the two channels into a mixer, it works like cdj's. Why would you want to plug this directly into a "big dj speaker"??? NO, you don't need to plug it into a laptop, it's not a controller. Does your ipod work with it? I don't fucking know, what are you even talking about??? NO I'm not lowering the price just cuz you need to plug it into a DJ mixer, stop wasting my time!" click... "hello? Yup, I'm home all day today, care to pass by to pick up the padkontrol? Uhmm, no it doesn't come with the 9v power adapter, it's sold seperately so... Well it's USB powered so you don't even need the power adapter, and yes it comes with the USB cable. The manual? no I don't have it, it's like 5 pages... You can download it for free. 70$??? Are you a fucking idiot? No... Go fuck yourself." click...

I actually really like the Total Control as well.
The layout is perfect for any normal mixing, it has all your buttons for FX's, the EQ knobs can be pushed down to act as kills, loop buttons, cue buttons, and a nice big knob in the middle for scrolling through your tracklist etc... It even has a little hole on the bottom, that's made to fit on top of a turntable in cramped dj booth setups. I would keep it, but I want my Twitch controller!
