Ok so heres the deal;

I'm trying to figure out which is a more user friendly PC based sequencer.

My needs are mainly drag on drop considering everything is done on external hardware.

I have a yamaha SW1000xg connected to a mackie vlz1202pro...

what best suits my needs? Acid? Cubase? e logic?

Help me!

Cubase and Logic are pretty good, but they are a bitch to learn to use properly.

One very powerful sequencer that should be easier to learn is Cakewalk Sonar. Take a look at it: [ www.cakewalk.com ]

sonar is pretty good actually, probably the easiest of all the programs.. But Cubase is the most widely used one for PC now (and logic has been discontinued)

Logic hasn't been discontinued, only discontinued for the PC, but the last version for the PC is not a childs toy and works fine.

Cubase SX is top not quality also. It's not as hard to pick up as some people make it out to be.

Well he did mention a PC bases program, so it's important to note that logic will no longer be updated.

Cubase is quite easy though, just make sure you have a good low latency soundcard...

nobody wants to use Hardware sequencers... why aren't they cheaper and more available?

i got a rack sampler sitting around doing nothing

reason why i'm not using the computer for this stuff is cause i spend enough time in front of this piece of shit already

well you are putting yourself behind in the technology by going for hardware sequencers which are harder to use and have less features then a PC. Many electronic artists use PC's now at least as the sequencer and often as more...

Most hardware is becoming like PC's anyway, with drives and screens and stuff.. The MPC 4000 is basically a computer, mackies big digital mixers have screens and drives and you control them like a computer...
