"On March 7, 2011, Camelot Distribution Group, a film company based in Los Angeles, filed a federal lawsuit against BitTorrent users who allegedly downloaded the movie between January and March 2011. The lawsuit which targets 5,865 IP addresses, seeks to compel ISPs to identify the defendants from their IP addresses. The company has until May 13 to "show cause why the Doe defendants should not be severed and/or dismissed from this action based on improper joinder of parties or lack of personal jurisdiction".The Electronic Frontier Foundation will act as amicus counsel on the side of the defendants, who at this stage are known only by their internet IP addresses and rough geographic location. The lawsuit is seen as part of a courtroom based strategy in which defendants are asked to settle or risk being named in a public lawsuit. If successful, the lawsuit could earn more money off the movie than it did at the box office." after salami slicing , information whoring , isp narking , tax per transaction , pay per usage , street value scapegoating and now this , bogus release in hope of entraping more ppl than entertaining them entertainement industry . can we get the fucking money out of the picture now. and i mean digital money yer out , humans arent responsible enough to own you, cuz its the only things thedy wanna do , own you. -thoses who need to learn to read have been preemptively banned from this thread. i call it much needed eugenistic ethical cleasing towards people who practice it. learn ethics. |

 Coolness: 685605 | The retarded part about this is that the company that's suing people might not actually own the rights to the movie - they're also involved in a lawsuit with the people who made/wrote it right now. The company that's suing is assuming that it owns the movie because it lent money to the people that made it or something stupid like that. |
