A Question For All You Programmers

| I've come across a web scripting style no one I know can identify.
Found in a .tpl file is a whole lot of html and every now and then you see something like this:
{if !$variable}
<script language="javascript" src="{$Templates_Lightbox}lightbox.js"></script>
{/if}
most of the site is php, but this stuff is all over the place... google returns 5 results in some other language, is this custom scripting you think?
so yeah, do you recognize that? what the fuck is it? |

learning the basics shouldn't be so difficult, just pick up a tutorial for PHP or C++ (or plain C) ; there should be plenty on torrent sites (section books). doing it for a living is another story. |

| i've heard of C++ but its always complaints and "I DONT FKING UNDERSTAND " etc etc with it, it sounds like fun but i think it'd take a ridiculous amount of time to learn even the basica...
it doesnt sound like it would pay off it some aspects though |

| you don't have to make a super program, just create a program that will rename your music folder files or something (test with bogus files first). or perhaps create a website (you can host on your own computer using an AMP package (I love XAMPP)) that will manage your tasks (such task have to be done by then, when it's done check it [ www.w3schools.com ] ).
my advice is unless you really know where you're going, build on small steps and test often. |

| It's actually not that hard if you get into it and enjoy it. I do a lot of PHP in my line of work (especially with Zend Framework) and I learned everything on my own. I started off just copying scripts and tweaking them, then eventually wrote my own and now I work with frameworks which speeds up production amazingly as well as optimizing your apps. |
